Eloras pov

"Well well well, look who finally crawled out of her little trailer" she sneers at me. I look her up and down and can't believe this used to be my best friend.
Her blonde hair styled to perfection, her face is completely covered with make up and her cheerleader uniform definitely a few sizes to small. I let out a small laugh, "OH if it isn't Brittany, what is the saying third times a charm right? Well looks like it was applie to your third nose job! Looks a lot better than the last one." I say in a sickly sweet voice.

And the fake smile drops from her face and turns into a glare.

Leos pov

I quickly move to Elora's side, and look back and forth between her and the cheerleader that just appeared. Brittany looks as if she tasted something sour. I take in her appearance she has blonde hair which looks like it took forever to style, and her uniform looks about two sizes to small. I know her type instantly, the insecure mean girl. She doesn't say anything in response to Elora just glares at her for a few more seconds. And then turns and looks at me and immediately smiles, "Wow who are you? Your really cute."

Then she winks at me, she must be used to guys falling at her feet by the way shes acting. It makes me cringe. But before I can say anything Elora says "we where just leaving" and she grabs my arm and tries to pull me past Brittany. But she steps in front of her blocking her path. "He's a big boy El, he can make his own decisions. Do you want to sit with us, it'll make your time here so much more enjoyable" she sneers at Elora more than at me. I watch Elora kinda stomp her foot and look at me, still holding my arm.

"Ok Leo, what do you want to do?" She asks me through gritted teeth. I look into her sea green eyes and start to feel something I haven't felt since Calypso left me. It was just a spark but it was definitely there, I swallow and break eye contact with her and look at Brittany "Bethany, sorry but I would actually prefer to keep my lunch down" I say with the best sympathetic smile I can do and let Elora pull me down the hallway.

Elora's pov

Neither of us said a word as we weave our way through the hallways towards the library. I have a small smile I've been trying to fight on my face, I can't believe he just did that. I was so expecting him to ditch me for Brittany, but he didn't. I drag Leo to the spot in the libary that me and conner eat everyday. Its in the far back corner so the librarian working cant hear us and a book case blocks us from veiws of the other kids in case a few bobble heads from the cheer squad ever wonder through. I basically throw my self down on the floor and sigh. I rake my hands through my thick hair, close my eyes and lean against the wall.

It's silent for a good few minutes but i can feel Leo's eyes on me. "Is that a hickey?" I hear him ask. My eyes shoot open at him "Where?" I breath out and he points to my neck. I start trying to look down at my neck when he leans over and moves my turtleneck down traces a bruise of a faded handprint around my neck. The memory of a few nights ago flashes through my mind and my breath gets caught in my throat. "Nn-no its not a hickey" I say trying to find my voice. I tried to muster as much confidence as I could but it still came out unsteady.

"Is it a handprint?" He asks softly bringing his hand back down and raising an eyebrow at me. I opened my mouth to say something but no words came out. So he continued, "who's handprint is that Elora?" It felt like the space was closing in on me, no one has ever noticed them before not even Conner. "I dont know.." I whisper. We sit there for what feels like forever, him staring at me and me staring at the ground. Until a voice inturupts "thought you might be hungry after what happened it looked like a riot was taking place i barely made it out... oh did i inturupt sonething?? Conner asks walking up.

I look up from the ground, I didn't even realize Conner wasn't with us until now. "No." I answer smiling at the same time Leo says "yes." Conner raises a eyebrow at us but continues to sit down, he is carrying two trays of something i cant tell what it is. He starts to talk about what happened after me and Leo left the scene in the hallway but I'm not really listening. His sandy brown hair is long and all over the place from when he rubs his hands through it. His blue eyes seem to change shades as he talks. I always wonder why he chooses to be friends with me. He has a well built body plus the british accent which causes all girls to throw themselves at him Brittany included. I think the main reason me and Conner get along so well is that I'm the only girl not throwing myself at him. Dont get me wrong i find him plenty attractive but i love in that best friend/brotherly way. I relized I zoned out because both Leo and conner are both staring at me.
"Oh you got me lunch thats so sweet what you get me?" I ask shaking out of my own thoughts, which causes Conner to laugh but Leo's eyes never leave me.

That was so close i havent even told Connor about my foster dad and hes my best friend. Conner grins at me and hands me the styrofoam lunch tray and is about to answer but is interrupted by a blood curdling scream coming from the hallway.
