Chapter 6: Claimed

Elora's pov

       Once we land and get our barings, I look around at the scene in front of me. I take it all in, the cabins the forest the dining pavilion the training course even the rockwall is here. You can definitely say I'm a little overwhelmed. "Come on guys, follow us" Piper says pulling me out of my thoughts, "so I know you must have a lot of questions but let me explain first." She continues while leading us through camp, "you guys are demigods that's means your half mortal half god or goddess. And this place," she gestures around, "is the one place you'll be safe from monsters like the one at the school. Which I heard you took down by yourself," she continues turning to me and smiling. "That's not a easy feat."

I smile and look at the house she led us too, it's a big farm house with baby blue siding and a wrap around porch. "So Brittany and Conner, Will here," she say gesturing to the blonde guy who just walked up,"will give you the tour, since you haven't been claimed yet you'll be staying at the Hermes cabin. Which he will show you after the tour" she finishes with a warm smile. "What does being claimed mean exactly?" Brittany asks. "It's when your godly parent lets you know your their kid you'll see. It should happen by the end of the night."

"What about Elora?" Conner asks looking nervous. "Well the camp director wants to talk to her, and then after Leo will give her the tour and she'll meet you at Hermes cabin" she says not missing a beat. I nod and tell Conner I'll be okay he reluctantly leaves with will. Then it's just me Piper Jason and Leo, "okay let's get a move on" Jason finally says and starts up the steps into the big house. And we all follow him, once inside I'm overwhelmed all over again.

The vines the placement of everything, even the leopard hanging on the wall sleeping away. My eyes are darting around the room taking in every detail and then they land on a man with long brown hair and warm eyes smiling at me. "And you must be Elora, my name is Chiron but I heard you already know that" he says with a slight chuckle. "Please sit down we have a few things to talk about" he gestures to the chairs around the room. We all take a seat, it's quite for a second until he speaks up again "so tell me about this book dear." I go on to explain it to him and his smile slowly turns into a frown, after I'm finished he's quite for a moment as he takes it all in. "Can I take a look at the one you have please?"

I nod and pull my backpack off my shoulders and reach in and hand it to him. He takes it gently and opens it and his frown deepens. "My dear these pages are blank." I gasp "that's not possible I was reading it last night" I say while standing up to grab the book from him. But he's right the only thing left is the cover all the pages are blank. I sink into my seat again confused my mind going a million mile per minute. "Chiron we saw it to, earlier today when we first met Elora." Piper say looking at you sympathetically, it must be obvious to everyone I feel like I'm losing my mind.

"I don't doubt you for a second Elora," Chiron responds giving me a small smile, "someone wanted you to know about this life, who that is I don't know but we will figure it out don't you worry." It makes me feel a lot better knowing he doesn't think I'm crazy. "So try not to stress about it to much. Leo why don't you give her the tour now so she can relax a bit" he finishes. We all get up and are about to head out when something hits me, I turn around "wait earlier when the Empusa attacked us, she didn't want me dead she said her master wanted me. Who was she talking about?" I ask. His face darkens for half a second, but quickly smiles to hide it, "again let's worry about it later, we won't get any answers right now. So go and rest up dinner is soon." And with that waves us out.

When we get outside Piper and Jason excuse themselves after welcoming me again. They are both really nice, I can tell me and Piper are going to be good friends already. And I follow Leo as he starts the tour. After all of it, we end up in front of the Hermes cabin he had me laughing the whole time. "Okay here is your home for now, watch you wallet in here." He says with a wink as he opens the door. I take in all the faces staring at me and find Conner and Brittany sitting in the back. "Conner Travis," Leo calls out and two boys who are definitely the twins stand in front of me offering their hands at the same time. "These two are the head of the Hermes cabin," he then looks at them as I shake their hands, "and you two no pranks on the newbies."
