Lamia

Present time..

Friday. The best day of the week. You can go home and stay in your room all day. No need to talk to anyone, just all you alone with ice cream. And you don't have to go to school. I guess I just like the weekends.

I turned to Kaya. My best friend who had dyed her beautiful brown hair blonde for the summer. It suited her perfectly though. "Kaya?" She was looking at something.

"What are you looking at?" I asked and waved a hand in front of her.

She looked at me."Liam is looking at you," she said and began to smile.

I turned around and sure enough his blue eyes were staring straight at me. Everybody thinks that we will end up together, I just don't have a good feeling about him. I guess it could just be me overthinking. He is probably soon going to ask me out, and maybe it could be good with him. After everything that happened last year, he could maybe be good.

He waved at me to come over, and smiled big. I looked over at Kaya and she nodded his way. I turned around and began walking towards him. As soon as I was close enough he put an arm around me. His friends looked at us and smiled. My cheeks turned slightly pink. I looked over at Kaya, who is now standing beside me.

Liam began talking to me as soon as Aiden left me last year. He'd tried to before but stopped when he saw me with Aiden. Those two used to be friends, but they stopped talking when Aiden and I got together. I don't really know why, they just did.

"The whole class is going to the club tomorrow night, so you guys wanna come?" Liam asked me and Kaya.

"Sure," I answered and Kaya noded.

The club. A place we were every other weekend, got drunk and forgot about shitty things in life. I started going with them last year. It helped me get over everything.

We all walked to class, and Liam kept his arm around me. He sat down beside me in class, and I felt his eyes on me the whole class. Class quickly ended and I walked with Liam to lunch. He sat with his friends and I with mine.

"Hi," Amelia said as I sat down beside her and Kaya.

"Hi."

"So has Liam asked you out yet?" She asked.

"Well he asked me if I wanted to go to the club tonight," I shrugged and began eating my food. They both began talking about all different things, but I didn't hear a thing. I looked over at Liam. His blonde hair sat nicely and he was laughing. He was nice to me, but I don't think I'm as much into him as people expect me to be.

Kaya slapped my shoulder and said, "You're so into him."

I smiled slightly and looked down.

"So we are all going to the club tonight, right?" Amelia asked. We both nodded. "Okay so we are going to get ready at my house."

"Great," Kaya smiled.

I walked straight home after school. I had finally gotten my own apartment, and I couldn't be more happy. It was just the right size, and it wasn't long from my school. I locked myself inside, and laid down my bag. I went into my bedroom and opened my closet. I found a black dress in the back and it was perfect.

I got a text. It was from Liam.

Hey Lamia it's Liam.

Wanna go out and eat tonight?

Sure. I replied.

I'll pick you up at 7 pm.

Okay, I'll see you then.

Going out with him for the first time. I'm not sure what I would do, if he were to ask me to be his girlfriend or anything. I don't really know a lot about him, and I don't know how I feel about being with him yet. But I couldn't say no, he had been so nice to me. And a little date couldn't hurt anyone.

I FaceTimed Kaya and Amelia not long after, and told them about it all.

"If he were to ask you, I think you should say yes." she said and laid down on her bed, "it would be good after everything that happened with Aiden." People mention him from time to time, and it makes my stomach turn. I can't think about him without missing him, and I know that's pathetic since it all happened a year ago, but I just somehow can't forget him.

"I just don't know," I sighed.

"Don't stress over it Lamia, you don't even know if he's gonna ask you."

"Yeah your right."

I got ready with Kaya and Amelia over the phone. Some black shorts and a top. Liam's car parked outside not long after. I said bye to my mom and hurried out to him, and got in the car.

"Hi," he said, smiling. His blonde hair was combed back, and he was wearing a white t-shirt. His smile reached his blue eyes.

"Hi" I said, "where are we going?" I put my seatbelt on and leaned back.

He started driving, "to the diner." It was a short drive and we got there fast. He quickly got out of the car and opened my door. I smiled at him, and he took my hand. We walked inside and found a table. A lady walked over to our table.

"What can I get started for you today?" she asked.

"I would like a burger with fries, and a strawberry milkshake please." She wrote it down, and turned to Liam.

"The same to me, but make it a vanilla milkshake instead." she nodded and walked back to the kitchen. They were silent for a bit, before Liam said something.

"Two questions each, you go first" he said and leaned back in his chair.

"Okay...uhm, what's your favorite color?" I didn't know what else to ask.

"Blue, yours?"

"Green." he nodded and smiled.

"Okay my turn," he said. "What's your favorite animal?"

"Birds:"

"Why?"

"Imagine being able to fly wherever and whenever you wanted," I sighed leaning back. I always loved birds. It must be amazing being able to fly. I will definitely be a bird in my next life. My thoughts were interrupted, by the same lady as before, now handing us our food. I thanked her, and quickly took a sip of my milkshake. I heard Liam chuckle as i let out a small moan.

The evening was really good, and Liam was driving me home. He stopped outside of my apartment and followed me to the door.

"Thank you for tonight, it was really nice," I smiled.

"Your welcome."

I was about to go inside, but Liam turned me around and placed his lips on mine. I pulled away shortly after, and looked down. I waved at him before walking up the stairs, to the porch. I was ready to tell Amelia and Kaya everything.

Me trying to write a girl that is so outgoing with my socially awkwardness, is... lets say... really difficult.
But i'm trying my best not to cringe or feel awkward while writing it.
