Aiden

I put on my black tie and buttoned my shirt. It was early in the morning, and it was still dark outside. I walked out of my bedroom, and outside. I got in my car, and drove away. It was foggy outside, and the sun was about to rise. I parked the car outside the graveyard and sighed, before stepping out.

I took the white roses in my hand and walked to her grave. My mother died half a year ago, and today was her birthday. I placed the roses down. White had always been her favourite kind. The English mafia had come to our house one night and tried to get my father to hand over his mafia. He refused to, and they took my mother as a hostage and they ended up killing her. I blamed my father for not saving her, and still do to some extent.

It began raining, and I walked back to my car. I started driving home.

I walked inside and headed straight to my office. There was one of my men standing in each corner of the room. It had been awhile since something had happened with the other mafias, and it was getting weird. A little while after, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Ted Ricci walked on with two of his men beside him. "Hello, Mr. Romano."

"Hello, Mr. Ricci." I stood up and shook his hand.

Ted was the owner of another American Mafia. My father always tried to make a deal with them, but Ted's father would never agree on anything. We both sat down. I pulled out the paper to our contract and laid them down on the table. It was an alliance between us. "Are you ready to sign it?"

"Yes."

I gave him a pen and we both signed it. We thanked each other, and then he was gone again.

I left my office and went down to the training facility. The newbies were training hard, and my best friend Luka was the one teaching. They fought in pairs, and they were all improving. Luka walked over beside me.

"They are doing great all of them," he said, sounding proud.

I nodded agreeing. Luka had always been my best friend. He never went to high school, but he was always there when I needed him. When we got older we both began working for my dad's mafia. When I took over, my first change was making him second in command.

"I have more meetings now, but keep going on with this," I said, turning to him.

"I will."

Within a few minutes I was back in my office, and a woman walked in.

I was in my bedroom taking a break from everything, when someone knocked on my door. No one knocks on my bedroom door, without it being important. I opened the door, and it was one of my men.

"What?" I asked.

"We have a girl captured down in the basement," he explained, as I quickly began following him down there.

"Why did you take her?"

"We found her sleeping in one of our rooms, at the southern club." We reached the basement, and I walked down the many stairs. I could hear a girl yelling, and two men talking. "Tell me what you want from me!" She yelled, her voice sounded familiar. "I haven't done anything!"

I walked through the little bag and as soon as I walked in, she shut up. I saw a girl with long brown hair. tied to a chair. They had put a bag over her head.

"Who is she?"

"We think she is one of the English ones," one of the men said.

One of the English ones? In our club, it doesn't sound right. They almost never come around here, unless it's something important, "Let me see her face." I commanded.

One of them slowly pulled the bag over her head, and I could finally see her face. But I already knew this girl. Lamia. Her green eyes looked at me like she had seen a ghost. "Aiden?" She asked, almost whispering. I took a step back. It had been a long time since I'd seen her face, and it hit me like a fist in the stomach.

"Lamia."
