Lamia

"Lamia," he said and looked away.

I tried to talk, but my voice got stuck in my throat.

"Leave us alone for a minute," he said to his men, and they quickly walked out and closed the door.

He had changed a lot since I last saw him. His short dark hair was longer and a curl kept falling down onto his forehead. His face looked so serious and he looked like he hadn't slept for days. He was wearing a suit and leaned against the wall. My eyes met his and he sighed.

"Where am I, Aiden?" I asked.

"I can't tell you?"

"Then why am I here?!"

"My men mistook you for someone else," Aiden said and ran a hand through his hair.

"Your men?"

"Yeah."

"Can you please just untie me from this chair?" He nodded and walked over to me. He leaned down and my breath caught. I hadn't been this close to him in a year. He untied me and I quickly got up. I locked eyes with him, before lifting my hand and slapping him across the face. Took a couple of steps back. Tears were forming in my eyes.

"You left me."

"I know and I'm sorry, love."

He looked at me with regret. I backed away and leaned against the wall. What was I doing here? Where had he been all this time? So many questions. I hid my face in my hands and tears ran down my cheeks. I wiped them away and locked eyes with Aiden again.

"You're sorry? Don't you think it's a little late to be sorry?" I stood up. "Where have you been all this time?" My voice was now filled with anger.

"I'm so sorry, but I can't tell you."

"Bullshit!" I walked close to him.

"Tell me why you left. Tell me why you left me! Why Aiden?" I was punching his chest. He grabbed my arms and backed me up against the wall. My arms on both sides of my head. His face was again serious, no emotions. The tears stopped coming, and I stared back at him.

"You need to calm down." He whispered with a harsh tone. I did what he told me to, and he let my arms go. But he didn't step back. "What were you doing at that club, Lamia?"

"I was there with my friends."

"You never drink," Aiden narrowed his eyebrows, and studied me.

"Yeah but things changed when you left." I saw regret on his face, before he blocked it out again. He walked over to the other side of the wall, and leaned against it.

"Why did my men find you asleep in one of my rooms at the club?"

"I was hiding."

"Hiding? From who?"

"A man who tried to make me have sex with him." Aiden walked a step closer to me and listened, "I of course said no, but he just wouldn't let me go. He grabbed my ass, so I punched him in his face." Aiden looked angrier than before, but he stood still.

"Who was he?" He asked.

"Don't act like you even care."

"Of course I care," he said and walked over to me. He placed his hands on my shoulders, but I stepped back.

"Why would you, you didn't care when you left." The guilt showed again. Without another word, Aiden walked out of the room. I sat down on the chair again. He really didn't have anything else to say. I heard voices, and a minute after the door opened again. Aiden walked in.

"Is this the man you talked about?" He asked and held a picture up in front of me.

The picture showed a man, he had dark hair with some grey streaks. He wasn't smiling, and he looked tired. It was him. "Yes." I looked up at Aiden and two other men.

"Did he say anything to you?"

I thought back, "yes... He said that he wasn't someone you say no to."

"Shit,"Aiden mumbled under his breath.

"What's wrong, who is it?" I asked and stood up.

"Lamia, you need to stay here."

My eyes widened. "No I'm not staying here with you, I don't even know where I am."

"Take her, and follow me," he said to the two men.

They walked over to me, and grabbed one of my arms each. "No- what are you doing!?" They walked me out of the room, and up some stairs. They opened a door, and it led to a long hall. It was all dark, not much light. We followed Aiden further up another pair of stairs, and it led to another hall. There were two doors on each side. We stopped outside the last one. Aiden opened it and there was a bedroom behind it.

"You will be staying here," he said and walked inside.

The two men let me loose and I ran over to the door. It was locked. I turned around. Aiden was standing close to me. "Don't try to run, I'm only keeping you safe," he whispered in my ear. He took my arm and walked me over to the bed. Aiden sat me down, and quickly followed his men outside.

I was stuck. In a room and in a house I didn't know where it was. I had talked to Aiden for the first time in a year, and I still don't know why he left. I need to know.
