WhiteScale and Fiero retuned to the body of Diskaê. They landed on the ground next to Zachary and Katherine. Both dragons bowed their heads in mourning for a fallen friend. This was custom of all dragons to do. The Drakonin believed that when a dragon or rider falls in battle the Dragon Mother takes them to live with her at Dragon's Nest. In short Diskaê would be reborn.

Katherine saw the body of her former battle instructor and friend. "Diskaê? No!" She had to be held by Zachary so that she didn't collapse to the ground in tears.

The king lowered his mother to the ground gently and held her close. "Its ok mother. I will see justice done." He turned to two guards that stood near by. "You two, help my mother to her chamber. She needs rest."

The guards nodded and helped the Queen Dowry to her chamber. At first Katherine refused the help. "I don't need rest."

One of the guards looked at her. "Yes you do Your Grace. The king has ordered it. He will make sure that the Capitan of the Guard is at rest at last."

"I should be there at his burial." Katherine said as the guards lead her to her bedchamber. Once the Queen Dowry was in bed, the guards stood outside to make sure that she would be safe.

The king turned to the dragons that had brought Diskaê's body home. "Thanks to you Fiero and WhiteScale, we can give our fallen Captain of the Guard a proper burial."

Fiero bowed his scaly head in respect. He was a great friend and mentor to your mother Majesty. He taught her how to fight and stand up for justice. Skills she passed on to you.

Zachary returned the bow. "I know. Mother never spoke ill of him."  He turned to Aki who was standing next to the body of her fallen friend. The king could see that she was crying. He placed a hand on the Dragon Mother's shoulder. "He will not be forgotten. You have my word Dragon Mother."

Aki nodded. "I should have unleashed the full power of the Dragon on the Dark One. I could have prevented this Your Grace. The Drakonin people look to me for everything."

Zachary looked at her confused. "What you mean? Like a god?"

Aki nodded. "Something like that. The reason why people call me Dragon Mother is because I have raised dragons since the Dawn Age and your mother's people have worshiped dragons for many years. The dragon was thought to be lost to us but when I was a little I stumbled upon WhiteScale's egg and that changed everything. I was forever known as Dragon Mother."

Zachary sighed. "Dragon Mother, how did my mother get that scar on her arm? She won't tell me?"

There was a pause before Aki spoke. "When your mother was young, she was promised to your father. The most beautiful girl in all of Drakeon. Many man fought and tried to win her hand in marriage. They all faiied. Your grandfather, Lord WIlliam, knew that she would be the perfect bride for your father one day. King Rayon, who ruled Wolf's Den at the time, was in love with your mother and would do anything to get with her. When he heard the news that your mother was bethrothed to his grandson, your father he was outraged. Astried his might dragon, BloodWing, he attacked Drakeon without just casue. He killed Lord William and Lady Mary and put his mark on your mother saying that if he couldn't have her no one could."
