The king looked at his mother with a curious look on his face. "The Golden Age? You never mentioned that?"

Katherine laughed. "There wasn't much to tell at the time. You were a boy and you weren't interested at the time anyway."

Zachary smiled. "I had other things to preoccupy my time I'm guessing."

The Queen Dowry nodded. "Oh yes. You always asked me about your father. If we would ever return to Wolf's Den."

Zachary smiled. "I know we would at some point. So what was the Golden Age like?"

"A time of heroes and legends. War and peace. During this time, King Ageon I ruled the realm. He had married Lady Sakura of Wolf House. Merging the two houses in hopes that it might end the blood shed. He succeeded and the war came to end. Ageon and Sakura had two children. A boy named Rayon and a girl who was named Elizabeth. Queen Sakura died in childbirth. It broke Ageon's heart. When Ageon died, his son Rayon took over. He was not like his father."

Zachary looked at his mother. "What you mean. Was King Rayon I like my father?"

The Dragon Rider nodded. "Yes. He double taxes on the common people and demanded that every able-bodied man leave to join the Royal Army much to his sister's advice. Princess Elizabeth did not approve of her brother's way of ruling. At the age of 21, Princess Elizabeth died suddenly. People say she died it was because of broken heart. It was, in reality, because of poison."

After Katherine told her son about the Golden Age, Zachary looked at her. "So is everyone who sits on the throne a decadent of Ageon I?"

Katherine smiled. "To some extent yes. Not every king who ruled after him was vicious like his son, King Rayon I."

Zachary nodded. "I hope that I can be a good just king like Ageon I. I bet he was a good king with a kind heart."

"He was. Dragon's Nest was where he was from and his people loved him. It's said that as a boy, he was very flirty and had a great knowledge of the world. He loved music and dancing."
