The Fearless Fox

Chapter 6

Later in the morning at Robotropolis, Snively walks up to Robotnik who is in his chair, "Robotnik sir, I found something very interesting." Robotnik looks at Snively with his usual menacing tone, "What is it Snively?" Snively looks at Robotnik, "I sent a team of research bots to the crash sight and they found a rare metal, according to their research it is a metal unlike any other and not of this planet." Robotnik nods, "Interesting, in that case it gives me an idea. Ever read a Superman comic?" Snively nods and Robotnik smiles menacingly, "Then I guess we found his Kryptonite."

Meanwhile at Knothole Village, Alex was standing outside his hut while thinking to himself with a worried expression, "What will Robotnik do? Will he really do something horrible? He could harm everyone I hold dear, my friends, and especially Sally." Alex shakes his head to snap out of it and decides to go to a nearby river and washes his face in an attempt to get rid of his anxiety. Alex sees Sally nearby the river who is sitting on a rock while looking at her reflection in the water, he walks up to her and smiles, "Good morning Sally." Sally looks at Alex and smiles back, "Good morning Alex, how are you?" Alex wags his tail and blushes, "Pretty good, so what was it you wanted to tell me yesterday?"

Sally blushes and looks down as she says with hesitation, "Well, I love you Alex." Alex blushes more and holds Sally's hand, "I actually love you too." Alex and Sally hold each other's hands and look into each other's eyes and were about to kiss but before they could Alex hears a sudden ringing sound that only he can seem to hear with his super hearing. Sally looks at Alex in confusion, "What's wrong?" Alex gets up, "I hear something."

Alex listens and hears Robotnik's voice, "Hello Alex, this is Robotnik. There is only one creature with less than four legs that can hear this frequency, and that's you Fearless Fox. I planted a bomb underneath Knothole Village and you're going to have to come here as quickly as possible to stop me. I know you wouldn't have accepted an invitation for tea, but a situation where lives are on the line, that's what really gets your attention." Alex widens his eyes and looks at Sally, "Sally, Robotnik is up to something and I have to stop him!" Sally gasps and nods, "Understood, be careful Alex!" Alex gives a confident smile, "Don't worry, I'm the Fearless Fox." Alex starts to fly away and continues listening to Robotnik's message, "You have a strong streak of good in you Fearless Fox. But nobody is perfect, almost nobody."

Alex flies into Robotnik's building and looks at Robotnik who is still sitting in his chair, "Alright Robotnik, where is the detonator?!" Robotnik chuckles menacingly as he stands up, "In the back of my mind." Alex growls and makes a fist, "Is that how you find joy? By plotting the death of innocent people?" Robotnik smiles and shakes his head, "No, by causing the death of innocent people." Alex looks around using his X-Ray vision looking for the detonator and one thing that catches his attention is a box made of lead which he can't see through, "What's in there?"

Robotnik smiles menacingly, "I'm glad you asked." Robotnik opens the box and takes out a necklace that is holding an orange glowing metal shard and Alex watches in shock and starts to kneel in fear while also slowly being weakened by the radiation emmitting from it, "It can't be, Thalamite!" Robotnik chuckles menacingly, "I guess this is what those Borchna people you told me about used to keep you in line, I thought it would look really nice on you. Oh and there is no detonator, I just wanted to lure you into my trap." Robotnik puts the necklace around Alex's neck and because of it he slowly starts gasping for his own life and he laughs menacingly, "I guess your not a god after all, now I'll show you what happens when you say no to me." Robotnik grabs Alex tightly by the neck and punches him violently in the face repeatedly and because of it a little bit of blood from Alex spills, Snively watches in horror.

Robotnik throws Alex across the room and he hits the wall like a rag doll and he groans loudly in pain, something he rarely feels. Robotnik smiles and places his foot on Alex's chest and presses it hard, "When I get to Knothole I will kill everyone you hold dear, especially Sally in the worst way I possibly can." Alex continues gasping for his own life, "You diseased maniac." Robotnik growls and kicks Alex in the head then looks at Snively, "Snively, stay here and watch Alex die." Robotnik leaves and goes into another room and goes inside the Death Egg Robot and flies away to Knothole Village.
