A giant ant burst out amongst the grass, followed by two others. They were only about eight in human years, but they were almost three times the size of humans. Their unmistakable red thorax, paired with their black heads and abdomens made the man realize that they were Sugar ants. When unprovoked, they are nice to live with and will keep predators away, but when angered, they will attack with a stinging venom. Anyone could tell that they were annoyed.
One of them seemed to be trying to talk to the girl by making a scraping sound. she couldn't quite understand, but could tell they meant her well. The man gripped her shoulder even tighter, causing her to scream as her bone started groaning from the pressure. Upon hearing her screams, the first ant lunged forward, and swiftly decapitated the man, Turning to the girl, it took her in it's mandibles before carefully starting back to the nest. Meanwhile, the other two ripped the carcass in half, blood pouring from the halves, and proceeded to follow the leader back.
