Chapter 4

Carter's POV/
it's almost midnight and Em isn't home. technically mom said it doesn't matter when she gets home but i still worry about her. eventually, a couple hours passed by and i was conked out on the couch.

Emelyn's POV/
"see ya tmrrw Dani:))"
i shut the door of my house and look over just to see Carter on the couch. was he staying up until i got home? i wouldn't doubt it, he's always trying to protect me. i love him.
i didn't want to move him so i just grabbed a blanket, covered him up, took his phone out of his hand, and kissed his forehead. "night Carter, i love you"
Carter and i have a bond like no other. he's been there for me and my mom since dad left us when we were 10. yeah i said we... Carter's my twin. he's older than me by 4 minutes and 20 seconds. usually twins don't get along very well but we've never struggled with getting along and that's why i love our bond.
i got ready for bed and finally fell asleep until our doorbell rang. what the heck? who would be at my house at 4 in the morning? i went downstairs to check and Carter was still sound asleep. how didn't he hear that?
after peeking through the window, i open the door. "DANIEL?"
he was bawling. "omg what's wrong?!"
"i- i"
i led him inside and up to my room so Carter wouldn't wake up. "come on love what's wrong, talk to me"
"it's my mom. she got into a car accident and got hit head on. she isn't doing good and the doctors said she has a low chance of making it."
"omg im so sorry come here"
i hug him as tightly as i could and didn't let go until finally, he released.
"can i stay here tonight? i'll sleep on the floor."
"of course you can love."
you wipe his hair away from his eyes and wipe his tears away.
"she's gonna be ok ik it. i've never met her but ik how strong you are so she's probably like super woman"
we both laugh and he just looks at me.
"i think i'm starting to fall in love with you"
hearing those words felt awesome bc i've been feeling the same exact way.
"let's get some sleep and don't worry about sleeping on the floor"
i went to get up and he grabbed me and pulled me back down and his lips smashed up against mine. after a little makeout sesh, i had to end it.
"as much as i enjoy this, we need to go to sleep"
Dani nodded his head and tucked me and him snug under the covers. he cuddled me until the next morning.

Daniel's POV/
i wake up and take one look at this beautiful girl. a smile instantly wiped across my face. wow. she's perfect.
i get up and check my phone. SHIT. i forgot me and the boys had a meeting today at 11 and it's 10:30 omg. i guess Zach won't be the only one late today.
i kiss Em on the cheek and leave her house.

3rd person POV/
Emelyn wakes up and smiles as she checks her phone. she goes downstairs and makes some breakfast. she made a strawberry banana smoothie, bacon, and pancakes. all she can think about is Daniel's soft lips and gorgeous blue eyes. she texts him

Emelyn
we still hanging out today?

Daniel
yeah, i had a meeting this morning i'm sorry i had to leave without saying goodbye.

Emelyn
no you're good, understandable:) where are you planning on going?

Daniel
