Hey:)

Who's your favorite character so far? Which character frustrates you the most? And whose P.O.V do you want me to write in the next time I switch perspectives? (Any character of choice). It's going to a "Character Special".

Ps- So grateful to every one of you :)🤍

To the messages asking where I've been and for an update, I'm doing okay. It's school! School's a pain. Thank you for asking, I really appreciate it.🤍

Barakah

"I wish I'd spent more time with you Amal." A miserable smile gave away Ameenah's childlikeness. Face falling, crumbling to that of a weeping child.

"Don't cry so much. I'm seriously starting to think I'm an onion or something. You cry all the time around me." Barakah tsked.

It was a rewarding feeling, to know a loved one was going to miss you. Barakah took Ameenah into her arms, cradling her so delicately as if she was the newborn in white again. Eighteen years ago.

"Stop with the jokes. I'm trying to have a heart-to-heart with you." She felt Ameenah's arms stretch, secure so tightly around her.

"I'm so proud of you. We all are." Pushing out of her younger sister's grip, Barakah turned back to their family, looking over them.

"I-I think I'm proud of myself too." Stuttering over her own confidence. Ameenah embodied the unknown Barakah knew just a bit about.

Coming of age signs.

The years after turning sixteen were a personal secret. A sole experience for everyone.

Sixteen was sweet,

Sweets turn sour.

The walk after turning sixteen for so many was filled with clueless but hopeful years to come. Barakah didn't know what she wanted after turning sixteen and even the people around her that did worked with and against the odds of life and it's irregularities to make their dreams come true.

Eighteen was no different and at almost twenty-two, Barakah was still as incompetent in the knowledge of life but capable in life. She wasn't wise enough to read through life but empowered enough to deal with it day by day.

That was the difference between eighteen and twenty-two.

But,

She still couldn't wait see,

She couldn't wait to be proud of,

The person that'll come to be,

From the shells confining her sister.

Ameenah would come to realize the same way Barakah did. Barakah had faith in Allah for her sister to persevere her own odds.

"Chin up always. You should be proud. Be proud enough to know that life will humble you regardless of who you are. If you can't see it coming, take it in with courage. I know our parents and siblings have spoken to you too. This is my tip."
