As the train rattled, I could hear the faint sound of the rain outside. Justin was in a deep sleep in the seat next to me. But all I could think about was that chip, that chip that may have just ruined my chances of freedom. As the train approached the station Justin woke up and asked me "Are we there?" In a groggy voice. "Yeah were here" I say pointing at the station that's coming into view.
When we got off the train it was 2 am. It seemed kinda strange that no one even bothered asking themselves why two kids were at a train station at 2 am. But its at our convince anyways so why bother asking. Justin suggested we got a room at the closest hotel available, which was a Hilton in. "What do you think of this room?" He asked. "I think the real question is where did you get the money to pay for it" I said looking at him and crossing my arms. "I had some money saved up" he said. "You better not be making up an excuse" I said joking. Suddenly the room phone rang, I skipped over and picked it up:
"Hello?"
"I Know you have the chip"
"Excuse me... what?..."
"Bring it over to Monty's pizzeria two blocks down from your hotel"
"I have no idea what you're talking about sir, I think you have a wrong number"
"If you don't I'll kill you and get it anyways your choice"
I hung up the phone and backed away from it sobing. "Claire! What's wrong?!" He asked frenetic. "A-a-a *sob* g-guy *sob* called.. Asking for the chip... He said that if we don't... Give it to him... He'll kill us..." As I started crying again, Justin put aouth over his face and started pacing. "We don't even know what it is, let's just give it to him and not take the chance of getting killed" he said. "Fine let's *sniffle* go" I said.
