"Have a good day at work," Carl teases as we stand outside the medical trailer.

"Yeah, it'd be better if I had Denise. Still don't know half the shit I'm doing," I admit quietly, taking a moment to rest my forehead on his chest in exhaustion.

"If it helps, I'm winging it, too," Siddiq says as he walks up to us.

"That means we have two doctors playing doctor. I wouldn't tell our patients that," I say as I glance to him.

"It's our secret. If Carl spills, we exile him," Siddiq points accusingly to Carl.

"Safe with me," Carl swears and the two share a smile before Siddiq climbs up the steps and into the trailer.

"I'm gonna get to work. You should, too," I say, turning back to Carl.

"Okay. I'll see you after," he nods, pulling me to him by my side for a quick kiss.

"Love you," I say, nudging his arm with mine.

He grins, turning to the door and calling back, "Love you."

As he leaves, I sigh to myself as I watch him go. Just as I begin to turn to the door, I catch sight of Kal leading a couple Saviors that weren't tied up like usual.

Alden was among them and he sends a small smile and wave, wriggling his hands to show there were no ropes for once. I nearly laugh, but the sight of Jennifer makes it disappear at once.

Confused and curious, I make my way over to Kal before they're too far.

"What's this?" I ask him.

"Oh, your mom wanted a few of them out. They're gonna go outside the walls with a few guard to bury the Saviors from last night," Kal explains, nodding his head to the small group behind him.

I hum in understanding, "That's nice of her. Letting them bury their own."

"Don't forget what I told you last night," Alden whispers as he quirks his eyebrow up.

I mimic the action causing him to smile, "Just saying."

"Well, then it's nice of her to let you get some exercise," I play back at him.

"Now that, you may have a point on," he points, "Staying in a five by five pen really takes a strain."

I scoff, shaking my head at the man before turning back to Kal, "Be safe out there."

"Yes, ma'am," Kal grins, waving for the group to continue following him.

I take a step back, only watching as they comply to Kal's commands. I wasn't sure about those in the pen at first- some of them still on thin ice. But, if they could be a lot more like Alden, maybe Jesus was even more right.

"Jade.. Jade!" a rushed whisper calls.

Looking to where it came from, I scowl as I see it's Jennifer.

"Can we talk later? Please?" she begs.

"No," I deny.

"Please! Just give me five minutes! You can bring a guard-"

"I don't need a guard," I snap back, "But, you might."

"Can you please just talk to me later? I have more questions, just please," she continues.

Sighing, I cross my arms.

"When you're back in the pen, I might come by," I say.

If I don't do it now, she'll just keep begging. I may as well amuse her for the time being.
