Turk's POV
It has been two days since Journey has rejected me, but I was still pretty bummed out. Honestly, he hadn't excpected her to say yes, but what she said was really unexpected, to say the least. I considered going to see her but I knew that it was best to leave her alone. She'd come around eventually.
One morning, me and 8-Ball were sat down with Remedy, and we were having a friendly arguement about something really stupid. Stupid arguements were a fun pastime between me and Remedy, and we chose to invite 8-Ball because I thought that he might enjoy them too. After all, 8-Ball was stupid and he liked to argue with me and Journey and... Rippley.
"I miss Rippley." I bought up the topic during an arguement about what colour roses were the best.
"Yeah. Journey's been feeling awful about it, I hope she feels better." Remedy sighed.
"I wish we could just pluck Rippley right out of wherever he is and take him back." 8-Ball shrugged.
"He's under that Eye Land place. Brutus put trackers in everyone's shoelaces. Actually, that's confidential information and I probably shouldn't have told you that."
"Oh, well. It's not like I'm gonna tell him. Anyway, what are we waiting for?" I reassured her excitedly.
"I don't know, Turk. Kinda seems like a plot device to move the story forward." 8-Ball questioned.
"I know. Isn't it great?"
"Come on, 8-Ball!" Remedy pleaded.
8-Ball rolled his eyes, "Ugh, ok."
So, about 10 hours later, under the cover of darkness, carrying bags filled with guns and med supplies, we ran into the night towards the Eye Land.Rippley's POV
Rippley was finding it increasingly difficult to respond with happiness to Toxin's kindness. Not only was it probably fake, it was just repeats of the same things. Free food, free lodging and free fancy suits (Rippley did ask if he could have something other than a suit to wear because he found them uncomfortable and Toxin said no, of course.) It was getting ridiculous.
Rippley wondered when his friends were going to show up. Of course, Ghost wouldn't just leave him here with people like Toxin and Chaos Agent. Not unless they wanted him to feel betrayed and rat them out. Rippley gulped.
They might not come for me.
No! Rippley have himself a mental shake. Thinking like that was what got him in this mess. Being so naïve to follow Toxin into a trap. Thinking like a prey animal. Thinking like someone from Shadow could be good.
Rippley finished his chocolate pudding and stood up. He needed to be alone.
"Where are you going?" Toxin asked politely but forcefully.
"Blorg blorg. (I need the toilet.)" Rippley replied, which technically wasn't a lie because he did need to pee but that wasn't why he stood up.
"Ok. Go back to your room when you finish."
Rippley trudged to the toilet, went into a cubical and sat. He didn't even need the toilet anymore. He was too lonely and sad to even care about things like that right now. He sighed and looked at the ceiling, the same ceiling he'd been staring at for about 3 days now.
"Blorg... (Help...)" Rippley sobbed.
And then help came.Turk's POV
"How should we get in?" Remedy whispered.
The entire Eye Land was surrounded by guards. The henchmen chatted and cocked their guns jokingly before laughing. They were obviously not very old, meaning that we knew not to kill them. They might not understand what they're doing.
"Trick the guards." I reccomended.
"You mean shoot them?" 8-Ball aimed in his Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, "Got it."
"No! I mean like give them free stuff."
"Like what? Free leaves? We're in a bush, Turk!"
"I packed chocolate bars."
"Of course you did."
"I dOn'T kNoW, tUrK. KiNdA sEeMs LiKe A pLoT dEvIcE tO mOvE tHe StOrY fOrWaRd." Remedy mocked 8-Ball.
"Good one." I high-fived Remedy.
8-Ball just rolled his eyes and looked across the lake. I could feel his eyes piercing through the henchmen. They looked uncomfortable, like they knew someone was watching them.
"Ah, screw it." 8-Ball laughed as he cleanly shot one of the henchmen through the head.
"No!" Turk grabbed 8-Ball and pulled him back.
The henchmen surrounded the corpse and picked him up, taking him inside. 8-Ball's method has worked, despite how gory and uneeded it was.
"You're welcome." 8-Balllooked pleased with himself.
"You didn't need to kill that guy." I scowled.
"Well, he's dead now. Can't change that."
"Guess not."
We swam across the lake and onto the island. On the inside of the base, an alarm sounded.Rippley's POV
Rippley didn't stop for anything as the words 'Warning! Intruders approaching!' blared over the speakers. He had to get to the surface. He kept running, even when Toxin and the Sludges saw him and started to follow him.
"Rippley! Come back, please!" Toxin reached for him.
"Blorg! Blorg blorg blorg! (No! I have friends to go to!)" Rippley shouted back.
When Rippley turned again to check if Toxin was still following, she was not. She had respected a Ghost agent's decision for once in her life. Rippley had a small feeling that he should go back and find her, but he didn't. He had to get to his fellow agents.Turk's POV
"Keep shooting!" I shouted.
"This is so cool!" 8-Ball cheered, "This is why I joined Ghost!"
Remedy fired her Bandage Bazooka if either of us got hit by the Shadow henchmen, "Just keep firing! Don't stop! I have spare ammo."
Over the sound of guns firing and Shadow members dying, there was a sound that stood out above all of the other sounds. It was happy. It was loud. It was Rippley, coming out of one of the buildings and running towards us... in a suit? Ah, I'll ask about it later. 8-Ball, meanwhile, pulled a grenade.
"Get back, Rippley!" he shouted.
Rippley ducked behind what appeared to be a crate as 8-Ball launched his grenade at our opponents. They all died in a split second. Rippley jumped out from behind the crate and sprinted towards us. Upon arrival, me and Remedy grabbed his arm and dragged him into the water, where we swam away.
I looked back to see Shadow henchmen and what appeared to be red Rippleys firing helplessly and Toxin, too. But unlike the others, who looked angry, she looked disappointed. I felt bad for a second before I rembered that she was the enemy.Brutus' POV
Of course, they had gone. Again. Turk and his friend 8-Ball had a habit of going rouge and completing a highly useful yet unauthorized task. And Remedy had gone with then this time. Brutus was in his office with Journey, who looked really annoyed like she wanted to go find Turk and throttle him.
Over the hill, right on cue, Brutus and Journey saw Turk, 8-Ball and Remedy running towards the Ghost base. But they had returned with Rippley. Brutus didn't even realise Journey had left until he heard the door to his office close.
He watched her go outside and run up to Turk. She slapped him before she kissed him. So they were in a relationship now; good to know. Journey then went and hugged Rippley and he hugged her back. Everyone laughed and they all went in.
They deserved a medal. They were always doing things that he dismissed because he didn't allow them to do it beforehand. Brutus folded his arms and laughed to himself. He gave them less credit than they deserved, it seemed.TO BE CONTINUED...
I don't have anything to say... like literally nothing. So goodbye :)
