Brutus' POV
Brutus was waiting for Strike Team E.G.O to return, as they said they would. Remedy joined him. He wanted to ask her a question.
"You don't know if the enemy knows how to hack a phone, do you?" Brutus asked her.
"I don't, but I'm sure they're just being a bit slow. Turk has a knack for taking too long at everything. They'll be coming soon, I know it." Remedy replied.
"Well, it's clear we'll need to change things up a little. Straight on assaults on Shadow bases will only lead to our demise, considering that there'll be both henchmen and commanders that are more aggressive."
"I guess you're right. But let's create the plan when they all get back."
"Yes."
Remedy then left him alone. Brutus decided to check in on his daughter, as he hadn't seen her yet today. She was where he expected her to be, keeping guard at the gate.
"Hey, daddy!" Ocean smiled gleefully.
"How's my girl?" Brutus bellowed.
"I'm doing great!"
"You know, we should go on a walk. Brutus can get Bushranger to guard the gate."
"Really? Oh, that'd be wonderful!"
"Come on, Brutus will get Bushranger now."
After getting Bushranger and asking him to guard the gate, which he happily said yes to, Brutus and Ocean took a walk through a field. It was good to be in fresh air again.
"So, how have you been feeling about this whole thing?" Brutus asked her.
"The mission? Oh, it's just another day in Ghost for me." Ocean replied.
"Good. Oh and keep a look out for E.G.O. They should be returning soon."
"I already have."
"Do you like the weather? Brutus quite likes it."
"It's actually quite nice, considering the clouds. How long do you think we'll have?"
"Brutus doubts very long. But 10 minutes should be fine, right?"
"Yup!"
"If only we had longer."
"Yeah, but you run this mission, and I have to keep guard. It just wouldn't work. But if we win and rule the island, then we can have these walks all the time."
"Then we'll try our hardest!"
"I love you, daddy."
"Brutus loves..."
"Daddy?"
"E... E.G.O! Over here!"Turk's POV
Turk saw Brutus and Ocean waving to him and E.G.O. Seeing Ocean was a surprise, shouldn't she be guarding the base?
"Hey! How are you?" Turk smiled.
"Good. Did the mission go well?" Brutus asked.
"Well enough." Journey shrugged.
"What happened?"
"We had a sort of truce. But Riptide seemed to be the head of the whole thing, the others seemed so... annoyed. They wanted to kill us." Turk sighed.
"They had a strike team too?"
"Yup."
"And who's Riptide?"
"He's my uncle. We didn't want to kill each other. But he wants me to join him."
"Don't. It won't end well for any of us."
"I gathered that. We need a new plan."
"Brutus was just thinking that."
"Good. Come on, we need as much time as we can!" 8-Ball started to jog to the base.
Everyone followed him and Brutus asked everyone to join him in his office. Ocean didn't join them, so she must have gone back to guarding the base. Brutus looked around the group.
"So then, us five better get to work." Brutus clapped his hands together and turned on a computer that was on his desk.
"They're probably going to make the first move, so we need to prepare our defenses. Brutus, didn't you say that you have a minigun?" Journey asked.
"Indeed Brutus does."
"Could we possibly get in more agents?" 8-Ball asked.
"We probably couldn't do it straight away, but Brutus can get someone over. Eventually."
"Good enough."
"We need to try and claim as much of the island as we can, preferably the swamp and woods as they're quite big and have lots of cover." Turk suggested.
"Indeed we should. Then it's a plan. Brutus will work out the details." Brutus nodded, "Good luck, E.G.O."To be continued...
