Turk's POV

None of us really had a lot to do today, so I hung around the medical area with Remedy. Of course, my sister is always great company. Remedy didn't have any patients so we were just talking about random stuff. Any new friends we made and the most exciting thing we had done so far.
"One time someone fell off a ladder and broke their arm in 3 different places." Remedy told me.
"Yowch!" I replied.
"You could actually see the bone."
"Thanks, I don't need the details!"
"Awww."
"*sigh* You never actually told me if you made any new friends."
"One person."
"Who?"
"Well, I haven't seen her around recently. She's called Cameo."
"Huh. Where do you think she might be?"
"I really don't know. You should ask Brutus."
"Are you gonna cone with me?"
"Nah, sorry. Just in case someone is badly injured and needs my help."
"And what are the chances of that happening?"
"Now you've jinxed it, pretty high."
"I'll go ask him now."
"See you later then."
"Bye bye!"
I decided that now was a better time to ask Brutus about Cameo than any other time. She could be in trouble, or maybe she's been killed by a Shadow agent. I couldn't tell Remedy that, so I had to save her if a bad thing had happened.
Brutus' office was just up the stairs. I went up and knocked on the door. Brutus answered almost immediately, as if he expected me to be here.
"Hello, Turk. Lovely day we're having." Brutus nodded.
"Not so lovely at the moment. Apparently a friend of Remedy's is missing." I replied.
"Is she an agent?"
"Yes. Her name is Cameo."
"Hmm... oh, yes, Brutus does know that name! Brutus sent her on a mission earlier today."
"Where to?"
"The bunker at Mt K-7."
"Why did you send her there? We already checked that place out."
"Brutus doesn't really know... something felt off and my gut was leading me to that place."
"OK, sir."
"Brutus has told her not to engage, or even enter the premises. Just to watch them."
"OK. Thanks."
I left the office. Cameo was not safe at the bunker. When we went there it was packed with henchmen and incredibly dangerous. If something was off about that place, then it would be more dangerous. And sending just one person? He may as well said that he was sending her to her demise. I thought of Remedy and what she would think if Cameo had gotten caught by the Shadow henchmen. Her only new friend. Who I didn't even know existed until this morning. I had to help her.
I doubt that Brutus will let me go out now. But who really cares? I have to save Cameo!
"What do I do..?" I asked myself.
"Depends. What's the situation?" somebody asked.
It was 8-Ball. Maybe he could help? I don't know whose side he'd be on in this argument. I'll ask him anyway, just to be sure.
"Don't talk down to me, I'm your leader!" I grumbled.
"A very pathetic one. Go on, tell me what's going on."
"You're still talking down!"
"Do you want me to help or not?!"
Ugh, I hate you, 8-Ball. I looked around and sighed. Cameo could be in trouble by now, I have to get out if here!
"Fine. Remedy's friend Cameo is in danger. She's at the bunker, by herself!" I sighed.
"Who..?" 8-Ball replied, "Ugh, it doesn't matter! She's in a situation and we need to get her out!"
"Indeed we do."
"Apparently Brutus has motorcycles somewhere."
"What?! Who told you that?!"
"Bushranger. He saw them. But they're not ready yet, so we'll be putting ourselves in danger."
"Are the bikes dangerous?"
"No, but Brutus will be if he finds out we broke them. So... just be careful."
"Aight."
8-Ball started to walk unsuspiciously towards the back of the base. There was only one guard, and he was looking the other way, so 8-Ball grabbed me and slipped into a small garage. There were four white motorbikes laying down on the ground. 8-Ball turned on a light and grabbed a motorbike. He flipped a switch and then neon cyan wheels appeared on the bottom.
"Holo-bikes. So that's what Bushranger meant." 8-Ball picked it up and sat on it.
I did the same. These things seem too expensive for a spy organisation. I grabbed one and 8-Ball unlocked the door.
"Just ram it." he nodded at me.
"OK." I gulped.
We both blasted forward on our motorbikes and broke the door down. We exited the base with haste. The guard didn't even try and stop us. Travelling on these motorbikes is quite obviously faster than walking. The journey to the bunker was overall uneventful, apart from near the end, when I saw Cameo hiding behind a hill.
"Cameo?" I asked.
She turned her head, "Shush. They'll hear you."
"Who will?"
"Them!"
I looked over the hill and saw that we were right next to the bunker. There were absolutely loads of henchmen there. Lots more than a few days ago. Mainly because we killed them all, or more specifically 8-Ball did, but this was still weird.
"By the way, who are you and how so you know ny name?" Cameo asked suddenly.
"I am Remedy's brother." I replied indifferently, still looking at the masses of henchmen.
"Oh, you're Remedy's brother! And ninja dude, what about you?"
8-Ball turned to us briefly, "..."
"He's my friend." I sighed.
"Gotcha." Cameo winked.
"I thought you were in trouble!"
"Oh, you don't need to worry 'bout me."
"Good. Do you want to go back with us now?"
"No, I'm yet to complete the mission so I gotta do that. Feel free to help me."
"OK then."
My phone buzzed. A message from Journey it seemed, as I checked my notifications.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Journey: Where are you?! Brutus is looking for you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, that's not very good. I turned to 8-Ball. But he had already seen the message. This couldn't end in anything too bad, but it couldn't go well either. The sooner we get back the better.
"Actually, we can't stay. Sorry Cameo." I gulped.
"Oh. No problem, tell Remedy I'm doing good." she shrugged.
"See you."
I got up and started to run to a bike. Then there was a gunshot. And then there was unimaginable pain in my right arm. I saw 8-Ball run back, grab Cameo and then leap onto a motorbike, turning it on. I turned mine on too. Just slower. The henchmen were coming.
"We need to go!" 8-Ball shouted, flooring the go pedal. Cameo barely had time to grab onto him.
"They got my arm..." I breathed.
"Get Remedy to heal it!"
"She's not here..!"
"THEN GO!!"
We both sped across the land. I guess the Shadow henchmen weren't expecting us to have vehicles because they didn't even try and follow us.
We got back I'm record time. Journey, Remedy and Brutus were waiting for us at the front gate. Brutus didn't look mad. But he probably is.
"What were you thinking?!" Brutus gasped.
"Well, I was right, Cameo was in trouble." I nodded, holding my arm.
"Only thanks to you." Cameo laughed.
"It appears they got your arm, Turk." Remedy stroked my arm. I resisted the urge to pull away.
"Wow. Thanks for stating the obvious." I facepalmed with my good arm.
"You're welcome. To the hospital wing we go."
I forgot Journey was even there until I was about to leave the area. She was just staring at the ground. Probably thinking about what to tell Rippley about this.
According to Remedy, I hadn't fractured or broken any bones, but the bullet had pierced my flesh. It'd take at least a month to heal. I shook my head and looked at the sunset. At least Cameo was safe now.

Brutus' POV

Cameo knocked on the door to my office and I opened it without another thought. She walked in and took a seat. She was probably thinking the same thing I was - what a day.
"Well, did you find out anything about the outpost?" I asked her.
"I didn't, but Turk did. There are a lot more Shadow henchmen than when he was there." Cameo gulped.
"Huh. So my suspicions have been confirmed."
There was definitely a sort of weapon inside of that mountain. And we had to get to it before Shadow could destroy us all.
