CHAPTER 5

Recommended song: Mirrors by Rejjie Snow
(It fit the vibe of her walk to the library)

August 16th, 2019

Walking home you were barely able to focus. In fact, you were so lost in thought that you had almost ran into a lamppost on the sidewalk. (Y/N) couldn't help it though, she had just agreed to a challenge that could and would most likely affect her life as she knows it. She couldn't quite grasp the situation at hand. The fact that she was willingly allowing someone into her life, even if it might be for a short period of time was a huge breakthrough in her repetitive life.

'How could I agree to this? How did I actually let him convince me to do this?', she thought to herself while approaching the front door of her house.

Once she entered she was greeted by a small presence that rubbed itself on her legs. She picked up her small kitten and began petting him. Her cat that she had recently adopted gave her a small sense of humanity knowing that she was taking care of a new life. To commemorate her first love, she had decided to name the small black kitten Búho.

She placed the kitten back down and began walking up the stairs to her room. Walking in she placed her backpack on the floor and flopped on the bed. She replayed the events that had happened earlier on in the day from finding her hoodie, to talking to Suna. Thinking about the boy she didn't register that she had a slight smile slowly etching itself onto her face. The moment she realized what she was subconsciously doing, she gasped and quickly brought herself back to her senses.

'Why am I thinking about him right now, I barely know the guy', she thought to herself.

While deep in thought, she heard a quiet buzz coming from her backpack. She unzipped the black backpack and grabbed her phone out of the pouch. Turning on the device she saw that she had received a message from the boy she was currently thinking about. They had exchanged numbers prior solely for the purpose of the project and the bet at hand.

Suna
-------------------

Suna
Hey Y/N this is Suna, I wanted to see if you want to meet up at the library close to the ice cream shop to start the project?
3:47 PM

Me
Hello, and yes that's fine.
3:48 PM

Suna
That seemed a little dry but i'll take what I can get
3:48 PM

Me
What do you mean?
3:49

Suna
Well you could use a little more pep in your response.
Maybe something like "Yes! I'm looking forward to hanging out later"
3:50 PM

Me
But i'm not excited.
3:50 PM

Suna
Ouch, you wound me Y/N :(
3:50

Y/N couldn't help but let a quiet giggle escape her lips. She found it a bit humorous how Suna had called her out for being a dry texter, and his response to her opinion on the meet up. She wasn't aware, but a small spark began to ignite itself in her desolate heart. A tiny spark that hasn't been kindled for years, was beginning to show itself without the girl's knowledge. She soon continued on with their conversation.

Me
You're a bit dramatic don't you think?
3:51 PM

Suna
I personally think it's an appropriate response.
And you sound so cold over text :(
3:51 PM

Me
Would you prefer if I use an emoji after my reply?
3:53 PM

Suna
I would thank you very much
