CHAPTER 23

December 31, 2019

Time: 6:16 PM

"(Y/N) did you already set up the bed sheet on the roof?" You mom asks as she prepares the Onigiri for later.

"I think dad said he would do it." You replied as you continued decorating the living room with silver tinsel and gold balloons.

"How many of your friends are coming over again?"

"Around 7."

Today was New Years Eve and you had decided to host a small party at your house.

Everyone said they would be able to come so currently you were busy getting everything ready for tonight. Your parents trusted you enough to host the party without them being home. Instead they would be attending a party at a family friend's house and celebrating there.

"Alright, the roof is all set, I had to use 2 bed sheets for more space." Your dad says as he walks down the stairs.

"Thanks, when are you guys leaving again?" You ask as you walk into the kitchen to help your mom.

"In an hour or so, it depends on how long it takes to finish the food." He says as he washes his hands in order to help.

"Oh if you guys want to go I can finish the rest, there's not too much left to make." You say

"It's fine we'll be done in less than 5 minutes if we hurry."

You smile as the three of you quickly make the onigiris. It didn't take long for you guys to finish, and once they were ready you placed the full tray on the table filled with other snacks.

"Well we need to leave so we can get there early but have fun and don't burn down the house." Your mother says sternly.

"Don't worry I won't be cooking anything." You say while rolling your eyes playfully.

She laughs before giving you a hug and leaving the house with your dad following behind.

'Okay what time is it?' You say in your head as you reach for your phone. Looking at the screen, your eyes go wide once you read the time as 6:26.

Quickly running upstairs, you run into your room and grab the outfit you already had laid out on the bed. Rushing into the bathroom, you turn the shower handle and close the curtains as you take a quick shower.

Once you were done, you let your hair dry before starting on your makeup. Deciding on just eyeliner, mascara and a bit of eyeshadow you carefully finish and slip on your outfit for the night.

Flopping on the bed, you let out a tired sigh as you close your eyes to calm yourself down.

It was silent before you heard a series of knocks coming from downstairs.

The tiredness that had once threatened to take over your body was now gone and replaced with excitement.

Running back downstairs, you unlock the door to see Suna and the twins.
