CHAPTER 13

Flashback: July 6th, 2017

Time: 3:27 PM

'Hmm what's happening? Haven't I seen this before', you thought to yourself as a memory from the past starts to become clearer in your line of vision

'Wait where am I?', you question as the sound of your faint voice in the distance becomes more audible. Horror surges through you as all you can do is watch as one of the darkest days of your life plays out, and you can't do anything to stop it.

"Hey, wait up, I need to tie my shoe", you say with a hint of annoyance in your tone.

"My bad, here let me hold your drink for you", the boy says while grabbing your drink from your hand.

"Thanks".

You begin tying your shoe as the boy in front of you waits patiently.

'I remember this day... why are they making me watch it?'.

"So we have all summer to have fun, what should we do?", the boy beside you asks, hands intertwined with yours.

"Oh! We should go to an amusement park and ride all the huge roller coasters", you say with excitement as you take a sip from your water.

"That sounds like fun, but don't chicken out this time", the boy beside you teases.

"I swear it was a one time thing. The tower was super tall, it was only natural for me to be freaked out", you say scoffing.

The boy only laughs, leaving the couple to continue conversing and creating plans for the rest of the summer.

'We had so much planned out...I-I know what comes next. P-please don't make me watch', you plead to your inner thoughts, but they disregard your wishes.

"Where are we going next?", you ask the boy as he throws away his empty cup.

"Hmm, probably the park. We can just sit down in the grass and relax".

"Sure", you cheerfully say with a smile.

Waiting patiently at the crosswalk, the familiar white figure appears on the other side of the street, indicating it's safe to walk. Together, fingers laced with each other, you both begin to walk across the long intersection passing multiple people.

'Please no...'

The smile that was once etched onto your face begins to fade as the sound of a screeching car floods your ears. The sound of yelling becomes less audible as you see people running in different directions.

Looking to your right all you see is a red car speeding in your direction, swerving uncontrollably.

"(Y/N)!", was all you heard before two familiar hands pushed you away from the speeding car. Unfortunately leaving the boy as a target in the hands of harm.

The memory suddenly disappears, leaving you to your thoughts.

(Y/N's) POV:

'Why?', I thought to myself as the haunting memory quickly fades away.

All I can see is black. I stretch out my hand to see if I can find something in this black abyss, but nothing. It's as if the darkness stretches for miles.
