Chapter 7 – The journey to London

“What are you actually going to tell your family?” Liam asked me when the three of us walked back to my childhood home.

I sighed, “I think I’m just going to say we have to go back to the studio, recording our upcoming album.” I replied and a thought occurred me. “Wait. What are we going to do with our carriers? We have to protect the universe and such, but how are we going to do that when we are on tour and recording stuff?” I asked them.

“Uhm… we haven’t exactly thought about that yet,” Niall said with a sheepish grin. I huffed and rolled my eyes, giving him a pointed look. He gave me an innocent look, “What? We just found out about the demon part!” He tried to defend himself.

“Do you even know what people will do when they find out we are different?” I asked him and Niall raised his eyebrows, Liam kept silent, giving me a curious glance. I put on my most serious expression and said, “They are going to do painful experiments on us to find out how we are different and they will probably kill us, afraid we will turn against them.”

“And how do you know that?” Liam asked me.

“It always happens in the movies,” I replied and Niall snorted. “Movies aren’t real! That’s why they are movies.” He retorted.

I arched one of my eyebrows, “I also thought that superpowers weren’t real. And I think that you – out of all people – know that they are indeed real. The same with this so called Circle and the demons.”

“He does have a point there,” Liam muttered and Niall slumbered his shoulders. I smirked.

“Well, here we are.” Niall said and I looked up, seeing my parent’s house in front of me. “Want us to go with you?” Niall added when he saw my probably pained expression. I nodded, “Yes, please.”

Liam gave my shoulder a friendly pat and the three of us walked to the door.

I could hear a lot of commotion happening inside and according to Niall’s smirk, he could too. My mother was full on panicking and my step-dad and sisters tried to calm her down. My heart sank when I realized she was panicking because of my disappearance. “Remember, keep to the plan. And don’t tell them, it’s too dangerous for them to get involved.” Niall reminded me and I nodded.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door three times, folding my hands behind my back when I did so. The commotion inside the house stopped for a while and I could hear my mum running towards the door. I took a step back and the door flew open. My mum’s eyes widened when she saw me and I was engulfed in a big hug. “Louis! Where have you been?” She scolded me, pulling back, placing her hands on her hips, and giving me a look only a mother could do.

“Uhm… I went out, needed some fresh air and I bumped into Niall and Liam,” I said, pointing to the two lads on both sides of me.
