1991:

Lucius stood outside staring at the ruins of the Potters old cottage in Godric's Hollow. Tomorrow morning at 12:00, would mark the 10th anniversary of James and Aurora Potters deaths, Lucius knew Aurora on many levels, both understood each other well despite their differences. Lucius knew Aurora like many others didn't, he saw her worst flaws, the maniac side of which she tried to hide, for some sick reason he found it amusing how quick she could destroy anything in her path, yet no one had ever seen that side of her except for him and Bellatrix. The girl was truly the most complicated person he'd ever met and an unforgettable one at that.

Lucius, Bellatrix, and Severus had all been together when word spread of their dark lords plans to kill Harry Potter. Instead of following Bellatrix and Severus to the Potters, Lucius went home to prepare for the worse.

He could never forget Aurora, for she left a mark so effortlessly. Whether it was from a word, a moment, a sigh and every half-smile, she left a mark. He remembered the times before Hogwarts, when everything was less complicated, sometimes he'd wish time stopped, everything got worse during Hogwarts and after. Lucius could remember just exactly when things started to fall, but perhaps everything was going into shambles before that and he hadn't ever noticed. The war had done a number on Aurora, he remembered when she'd received the dark mark, she hadn't flinched, the way she stared at the dark lord with such hate. He would be lying if he said he wasn't shocked, a known blood traitor, friends to muggle-born and half-blood alike, put herself out to receive the dark mark.

He remembered staying over at the Black manor, for a month or so, during the summer of 1975. The year when receiving the dark mark and being part of the dark lord's ranks was popular amongst the pure-bloods. When Sirius ran away, Regulus was left betrayed, Aurora conflicted, and Narcissa broken-hearted. The Black cousin's quarrelled many times after Sirius was disowned, though most tensions was left between Regulus and Aurora. Lucius could never forget the none stop glaring between the two, Aurora always played older sister rather than cousin, much to Regulus annoyance. Though he was sure that wasn't the reason for the constant arguing, there was more to it, he just never cared enough to find out.

Lucius could oh so, remember the hurt and betrayed glances Regulus would send Aurora after she received the dark mark, but the glares and dirty glances stopped after her first task. Though yet again Lucius never found himself asking what was going on between the two. He always assumed it was because of how the war changed Aurora, she hadn't been the same after receiving the mark, it broke her, and she showed it. Aurora's short temper, crazed stares, bloodshot red eyes, and scrawny figure drove him out of Grimmauld Place in truth. He went back home, and later got news from Narcissa that both Aurora and Regulus had been disowned.

Lucius looked down the eerie dark street, with a cold stone expression. Aurora last spoke to him in the exact spot where he stood, in 1979. She was pregnant with Harry at the time they last spoke, she was covered in layers of clothing warming her from the wind. Her words replayed themselves in his mind, running a chill down his spine. And then, right before his eyes, was Aurora, just the way he had remembered her. Lucius scoffed in disgust trying to disguise what he actually felt, how pathetic could he be to imagine every detail of that morning?
