5 years later...
" James!" Aurora yelled the sound of loud rushing footsteps followed by loud yells and giggles.
" Come and get this smelly dog out of here, all he wants to do is lay near my stomach," Aurora whined as she tried to push off the heavy black dog from her lap." Minerva!" James laughed as a one-year-old girl ran into the small drawing-room her small yellow dress revealing the diaper she wore. Aurora groaned tapping her finger onto her fairly large stomach.
" You know Padfoot, you're going to eventually have to go back home to Moony right?"" Who wants chocolate!" yelled Remus as he walked into the cottage unannounced. Aurora glared at at the man, he quirked a brow a smirk lacing on his face.
" Pregnancy is treating you good ain't it Rory," Remus said before biting into the chocolate bar he had in hand." Piss off Moony," Aurora spat. He smiled at the rude demeanor finding it entertaining how moody Aurora could get. James shook his head at the three, as he reached down for the running toddler in front of him. Harry walked in, Hermione and Ron followed closely behind.
Harry stood watching the three arguing adults, the way they interacted was childish in his opinion. He was 18 now, watching his almost 21-year-old parents argue over the smallest of things with their two best friends who've they always recognized as family.
Over the years he'd adapted to the new way of life, it was a big change in setting. His aunt Andromeda was always kind but he always felt like a guest in the Tonks household. In the Malfoy Manor, he'd consistently fight with Draco about the smallest of things the only thing he liked about Draco was playing quidditch with him. Aurora was always quiet but loud when spoken to, he'd lived with her for most of her life yet he couldn't figure her out. He was closer to Aurora than he was Draco, at least emotionally but the Malfoy princess was more complicated than she set out to be.
Everything was different once his parents appeared, his father always seemed worried for his mother. And his mother was always working on something he wasn't quite sure of.
He assumed the war impacted them more than they set out. The first night as a family under the new Potter cottage wasn't as good as they thought it to be. He vividly remembers the loud screech of terror his mom let out in the middle of that night, she never said what it was. When they went to wake her, she was pale with droplets of sweat covering her body, a look of sheer terror and heartbreak in her eyes.
He knows she still wakes up the same way, but after Minerva and Monty were born no sound came out from that room. Not a single creak, not a snore. He assumed for the twin's sake, his parents cast a spell on the room.
" Hermione," Aurora smiled just now noticing the girl going in to greet her with a hug. " Now darling why don't you help me up," Aurora asked reaching her shaky hands towards Hermione who laughed at the gesture. Like if it dawned on him to help, Harry moved from where he stood to support his frail and pregnant mother. It wasn't a secret at the sudden loss of weight or the way she shook with no reason. Hermione had privately accused Aurora of dabbling with dark magic to both Harry and Ron. But Harry was quick to deny, and well Ron thought it was absurd.
