Chapter 24

I was sitting next to the window, I had found a hammer and pulled the nails out. A bird flew up and sat on the window will. I got up and went over to my closet, to find something to wear. I got dressed in a gray tank top with a black moon design , black boots and black jeans with rips in them, then pulled on my jacket and went downstairs as Gold called me.

" Miss Blanchard, has been accused of murder, I'm going down to the station to offer my services." He told me and I nodded as he left. I sighed as I heard his car leave." Forgot once again, Gold" I mumbled before leaving the house. I walked, down to the bakery and bought a cupcake, then went to Granny's and sat at once of the tables. I set the cupcake on the table and put a candle in it. Making sure no one was looking or coming, I waved my hand and the candle lit.

" another year, Gone" I mumbled staring at it, I closed my eyes and was about to blow it out when Henry sat in front of me." What are you doing"

" wallowing in misery" I mumbled looking at the cupcake, before blowing it out." Its your birthday" he asked and I nodded.

" what did you wish for"

" doesnt matter, its gone and its never coming back" I whispered and he frowned" its your parents isn't it, from the story"

" no, its something else, something that only one person can give me." I sighed, before sliding the cupcake over to Henry." Here, you have it, wishing does me no good" then I left him sitting there. I pulled my hood down and walked away. When I got home, Gold wasn't there yet so I went up to my room and laid on my bed. A few minutes later I heard Gold come into the house but I didn't get up." Abigail" I heard him call out and I got up. I walked down stairs and stopped at the bottom of the first staircase.

" why don't we go to Granny's for diner tonight" he asked and I nodded following him out to the car. When we got to Granny's I followed him inside only to find, Ruby, Emma, and Henry with party hats on, I frowned." What's going on" I asked confused looking at Gold.

" I realize I've forgotten your birthday for the last 15 years, plus the ones while you were in a coma but not this one, Rose" I smiled.

" I don't really care, I'm used to it" I shrugged and Emma smiled" your 16, Rose, this is your golden year" I frowned" what's so great about 16, its just another number" I mumbled.

" then I guess, you don't want this" he said holding out a key. My eyes widened" you didn't, did you?" I asked and he shrugged, before tossing them to me. After the whole birthday thing, We went home. From Emma I got a card, from Ruby a got a keychain that looked like a rose and from Henry( which he bought with money he took from Regina's purse) I got a snow globe. Inside was a little figurine of a castle, it played a small tune which he told me was called' a dream is a wish your heart makes', from Gold I also got a hemet which made Emma frown and ask" what exactly did you get her"

" you'll find out tomorrow " was all he said which my smile grow and Emma's widened.

I put the snow globe on a shelf with my books, and turned the key, filling the room with a musical tune that had me smiling.
