Puppy Dog Eyes

I splashed water on my face while everyone else was downstairs watching Lilo and Stitch and making cookies. We just came back from going on the pier to get some food and sit on the dock, it was about 11:30 pm. I stared at myself in the mirror.

What the hell am I doing. I have never had feelings for anyone before. Let alone being in love with someone before. Do I really love him? I mean yeah i'm the happiest with him, he knows everything about me, he's my favorite person, and just the thought of him makes me melt but does that really mean I'm in love? I need to just accept this. I felt my cheeks heat up again. Wow, I really am in love.

Once I collected myself again, I walked downstairs. Mason and Mia were sitting on the couch under a blanket- basically cuddling. I chose to ignore that and ask her about it some other time. Caleb was leaning on the counter, the veins in his arm popping out ever so slightly, his golden hair messy, and wearing a navy blue hoodie and flannel pajama pants. I think my eyes nearly popped out of their socket.

"Are you gonna come over and talk to me or are you still checking me out?" He smirked and I snapped out of my trance and went to go sit beside him. "Cute sweatshirt." He chuckled and continued scrolling on his phone. I was wearing a old baby pink strawberry he gave to me after I spilled my lunch on me in 8th grade. Somehow it still fit and it was so soft so I wore it all the time, I had on my favorite sweatpants, my black sailor moon slippers and my hair in a messy bun. 

"I'm so tired." I said as I yawned and everyone agreed since we had to get up early tomorrow. We all headed off to bed and I awaited the inevitable. We all split up and I walked into the bathroom.

"Yeah uh no, I call bathroom first, you take so long." He said as he tried to push past me but I blocked him.

"Come on I will be super quick pretty please." I said as I gave him puppy dog eyes.

"Maybe if you do me a favor" He smirked and walked towards me until my back it the wall and he put his hand next to my head as if to corner me. I felt myself start blushing,

"What are you talking about?"

"You can go in the bathroom first if you never do the weird puppy dog thing again." He burst out laughing and I glared; still red as a strawberry. He stayed cornering me while staring in my eyes. I couldn't help but stare into his emerald green eyes and I swear I saw them flicker to my lips before he cleared his throat and backed away. I stayed against the wall for a second until snapping back to reality and walking into the bathroom. I couldn't help but wonder how unbothered he was by that moment.

I brushed my teeth, brushed my hair and then walked out to a shirtless, sleepy eyed Caleb undoing the bed to go to sleep. I stopped in my tracks.

"Um, I thought you still had to use the bathroom."

"Oh yeah, you took too long so I went in the one downstairs." He said as he tucked himself under the covers and turned the TV on to watch a show.

I grabbed my phone from the bedside table and set an alarm for early tomorrow. I climbed into bed and turned off the lamp, noticing how small the distance between us was.

"Goodnight Caleb."

"Goodnight- hey wait"

"What?"

"Wanna hear a secret"

"Sure Caleb"

"I had a crush on you when we were kids"

"I turned over to face him to see him grinning at me.

"You did?" 

"Yeah, and like it was a big crush like I really liked you"

I giggled and turned to lay on my back.

"Hey you know I love you right?"

I gulped and turned to face him again.

"I know Caleb. "

We both turned away and I started to doze off when I felt him grab my waist and pull me closer. I grabbed his hand and when I heard his breathing slow down and I knew he was awake I felt my heart sting a bit.

"I love you too Caleb. " I whispered while I felt myself drifting off.

I'm on like a half inspiration roll and half writers block so that's why these chapter have been weird but I hope you enjoy them anyways!
