Against a Wall

I woke up as the light shone through the sheer curtains, I smelled a faint scent of cologne and felt Caleb's body entangled with mine. I moved out of bed hoping I didn't wake him, I stared at his innocent dreaming face before I walked downstairs to go get some cereal. I grabbed some cinnamon life and sat down to watch some random Disney show with Mason. I'm guessing that Mia was still asleep just like Caleb. Our plans for the day were to go shopping and to the beach again.

Later when everyone woke up we went to the boardwalk and ended up spending half our money buying useless things but it was worth it since we got to spend so much time all together, by the time we got to the beach it was about 2 PM. We sat all our stuff down and I felt myself being grabbed and held upside down while I was setting my phone in my bag, I started laughing and I immediately knew it was Caleb. He ran in the water and dived while still holding me, I screamed and came back up and saw him die laughing. I ran to him and started slapping him and he held me back with his hand on my forehead. I gave up and decided to keep swimming deeper.

A gigantic wave crashed on top of me as I was turning around to look for Caleb. I felt myself being submerged in the water, my eyes stung with pain and I was running out of air from panicking. I knew I was going deeper into the ocean because I couldn't touch the sea floor anymore. I tried to reach out for something or someone but I was completely alone in the middle of the ocean.

As I took one last breath or tried to I felt my lungs tightening when I felt strong arms grab my waist and pull me up to the surface, I started coughing and choking. They wiped off my eyes and I saw a boy with black hair, freckles, and gold eyes.

"Fuck, are you okay?? I saw splashing and I felt like something was wrong."

"Yeah I'm, I'm okay I think." I stopped choking as much and got a good look at him. He literally looked angelic, I tried not to stare at him because in my past that hasn't worked out well for me.

"Come on I'll help you get to shore. you know your out here pretty deep, are you by yourself?" He questioned while still holding my arm helping me stay afloat. He continued talking when Caleb swam up.

"Bro holy shit Rory, I was so worried are you okay-" He cut himself off and looked at the other boy. "Who's this Rory"

"Hi i'm massimo, but everyone calls me Bowie." He said as he smiled at Caleb. Caleb just glared and him and look back at me.

"Do you need anything Rory? Mia has a first aid kit and it wont do much but it might help."

I shook my head no and Caleb came to the other side of me, he grabbed my lower back and my arm and they both helped me back to the shore.

I sat on the towel and Mia grabbed some water for me to drink and made sure I was okay, I closed my eyes and was disrupted when I heard Bowie come back up to me and start up a conversation.

"So uh, I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm Bowie, your Rory right?"

"Yeah, hi" We smiled at each other and I couldn't help but look at his gorgeous amber eyes.

"Okay me and Mason are gonna go walk the beach and look for seashells, you two behave." Mia said as she pulled Mason up from the blanket.

"I better find a shark tooth or I want a refund" Mason said nonchalantly.

Bowie sat down beside me and I scooted over so he could sit on the blanket more. "Your friends seem cool."

"Yeah, we've all been friends since we were kids, did you come with your friends here?"

"No I come to this beach all the time to surf, I'm moving to Seattle though. I just come here every couple weekends."

"Oh no way, we all live in Seattle too! Maybe we'll see you around sometimes"

I could feel Caleb's glare and I hear him scoff.

"Oh hey Caleb" I said while patting down the blanket, cuing him to come sit.

He rolls his eyes and walks back off to go in the water. That was weird, maybe he just wants to swim more? I notice him go up to a girl and start talking to her. I hear them laugh and I see her pull out her phone and Caleb put his number in. I come back to reality when I hear Bowie clearing his throat.

"So you two got a thing going on?" He asks while he fiddles with his fingers.

"Um.. not really? Yeah no."

"Oh okay.. good" I look at him confused. "Well I wanted to make sure you were single before I asked for your number"

"Hey babe wanna go soon?" I hear Caleb's deep voice suddenly appear. I look up to see Caleb staring at me, he's trying to say something with his eyes but I'm still recovering from almost seeing God a little bit ago so I have no clue what he's saying. when I look over Bowie's walking back to his spot, he sees me looking and stops.

"You guys have business I don't wanna get involved in so I'll see you sometime!" He called out before continuing to walk away. I turned to see Caleb sitting by me looking at a very boring shell. He flipped the shell around to face me and he glares into my eyes.

"He wrote his number on this shell, how the hell did he even get a marker." I snorted and Caleb gave me a death glare.

We left the beach a little after, I still wanted to swim so me and Caleb decided to go to the pool close by the house. He was still being super bitchy for some reason but I knew not to press him because he would most likely tell me sooner or later.

Once we got to the pool it was sunset so everyone was either at the beach or eating dinner. I took off my light green cover up and was now in my bright pink bikini with pastel pink details. I was confident enough to say I looked fine as hell right now. I was checking my phone notifications when I felt Caleb pick me up and throw me in the pool, I screamed as I felt the cold water hit my skin. I came back up to the surface and wiped the water off my face, Caleb jumped in and next thing I know I was pushed up against the side of the pool, inches away from Caleb. I stared into his leafy green eyes as he stared at mine. His hand was on my lower waist and the other was pinning me against the pool wall.

"Don't ever make me jealous like that again." He breathed out.

"How did I make you jealous" I asked shakily.

His eyes darted to my lips and stayed there.
