After several days, the vaccine had reached a large percentage of people. You, however, were not one of those individuals. You also were part of another large percentage of people who believed the vaccine was suspicious, and would rather wait for the results than to get it immediately.
Rain had called you telling you all about the process. She said it was simple, and it hurt a bit after she got it, but other than that it was fine. You still didn't care for it. She called you crazy.
You had finished that tiresome assignment, and you turned it in to your professor. Your professor, seemingly taking your dedication with a grain of salt, posted a new assignment. You swear you nearly cried right in front of her face when she told the class the news.
Either way, you had time. You started working on it and taking periodic breaks, but that still didn't stop you from feeling the need to break down every once in a while.
You were on the final part of the essay portion, but your brain was blank. You were in need of a break. You decided to once more watch some television, or maybe browse your phone. Anything to get away from your laptop.
Standing up from your desk, you stretched and headed towards your kitchen to get a snack before relaxing. You settled on some pretzels.
You flopped onto the couch, flipping through channels. Nothing good was on, the usual. So, you chose the news.
However, this time another "Breaking News: Live" screen flashed before your eyes, causing you to pay attention.
It was Linda Clark, your local news lady who everyone knew. She usually wore a bright smile with her perfectly straight white teeth, and brown curly hair that any lady envied. However, her face seemed distressed, and you knew this was serious.
"Breaking News, the new vaccine created to 'cure all' diseases has proved to have a rather disastrous reaction. Patients who received the vaccine have been experiencing extreme exhaustion, sickness, and cravings for human flesh. They have started turning into flesh-eating creatures that crave human blood. Please, stay in doors. Do not leave your house unless completely necessary. Stock up on food and weapons if possible. More to come."
Holy Shit.
Rushing to grab your phone, you immediately texted Rain.
You: Rain? Are you okay?
Rain: Yeah why lol
You: Did you not see the news?
Rain: No? I'm not an old lady who watches that stuff
You: Please watch the news asap. I think... I think we're on the brink of a zombie apocalypse.
Rain: Wtf? Okay, give me a second. You stared anxiously at your phone, waiting for her response. After ten minutes of you stressing out, your phone dinged.
Rain: Fuck
You: How are you feeling?
Rain: I'm scared. I don't recall feeling any of those symptoms? I felt perfectly fine.
You: Maybe you're lucky?
Rain: I really hope so, cause I can't die without getting a bf first
You: Bruh, please be safe and update me
Rain: Will do xoxo
You: xoxo
ReadAt least Rain had not turned yet. You then realized you had little to no weapons. You panicked, thinking about your food and weapon supply. Also, did you have anything to heal you?
You bit your lip, your eyes flickering around in pure panic. What do you do? What can you do?
Wait, your attic! You never really go up there, but there has to be something good up there, right? Maybe you'll find some weapons and medical supplies! Or... you can head to the local Walmart... surely there won't be any creatures outside that quickly. Also, Walmart guaranteed food, medical supplies and weapons. But... which do you chose?
