You remained steadfast and silent as you left your house. You found an old back-pack from high school and filled it of your water, food and medical supplies. Your phone had been charged fully, and you threw your charger in the back-pack as well. You debated bringing your laptop, but decided it would be pointless since it would just be heavy weight. You also grabbed your notebook filled with tips and a survival guide. You would need that ten most. You also kept your bat and guns relatively close, in case you needed to fight. Luckily, there were no signs of any zombies around, but you kept alert.

You had no idea where you were going. I mean, it's not everyday an apocalypse occurs, and you just immediately know where to go. Besides, almost all towns were shut down in a quarantine-like state. There was no "safe" place. Everywhere you went you were risking your life. You had to be careful.

You decided to venture a bit farther out of town, at least. The next town had not been invaded yet, so you were hoping you could find something there. If not, you were most likely going to sleep in a car or some type of camp area. Maybe you could find Rain and Josh, and you could collaboratively work together to stay safe. That would be nice.

You hadn't received any other messages from Rain. You assumed she had been preparing to leave, so she couldn't answer her phone or let you know any updates, but you still worried.

As you walked past a corner, you heard loud whimpering, causing you to panic. It wasn't animalistic, it was human. You steadied your footsteps, making them seem less noticeable, as you tip-toed past the whimpering. You felt bad for whoever was in pain, but you couldn't take your chances to stop and look.

Well, you looked anyways. You knew it was a bad idea, but your curiosity got the best of you and you looked down the corner. It was an alleyway, and in it was a woman. The woman from the Walmart. Her arm was completely missing, the only thing that remained was small amounts of organ tissue and blood. Her face was nastily disfigured, her cheek had a hole in it while her jaw was crooked. Her leg was bent at an angle so unnatural that it almost seemed like she had been a mannequin positioned that way. The worst part about it was the woman was still alive. She was still alive, and she was in pain. You wanted to gag, but you also wanted to be unnoticed. You felt horrible leaving behind a woman, but she would only drag you down. There was no way she could live in her condition, she was almost dead!

"Kill me please..." She begged, causing you to frown in sympathy. She had been so kind to you... and you couldn't even bring yourself to help her.

You couldn't stay there any longer. Instead of taking that route where you may pass the woman, you turned around and followed another familiar route. Who knows what had happen to that woman, it could have been zombies or an accident or... who even knows?

The scars on her face definitely seemed inhuman, and what kind of superhuman creature could rip off her arm like that? I mean, it wouldn't make sense if it was a zombie attack because of her leg, but you shivered at the thought. Enough thinking about that, you had to escape.

You followed the roads which were eerily quiet. Some cars were parked on the streets, simply left there and forgotten. People must have freaked out when they heard zombies were invading the town, and they wanted to leave behind their loud engines and escape manually. You passed by a car with a bumper seat in it, along with a little stuffed bunny by its side. A child had once been there, you grimaced. You couldn't look at that car any longer.

A sign welcoming you to the town over soon became clear. It's welcome always seemed so friendly, but in this situation you felt like you were being taunted.

Passing signs directing travelers where to go, you noticed a cafe. It's sign said "OPEN" on it, with bright blue and red lights along with a smile at the end. You decided to check it out, hoping that it hadn't been attacked yet, and it was safe to enter. Just to be careful, you analyzed the windows before you walked in, but in stead of seeing a zombie, you saw familiar purple hair and black hair.

Your eyes widened, both in surprise and joy, as you rushed into the cafe. The door above dinged at your entrance, causing the waitress to give you a polite smile and the two customers to turn and look at you. However, when they noticed your familiar form, the one with purple hair could only let out one word.

"(Y/N)?"

"Rain! Josh!"
