⚠️TW: Swearing⚠️
Only read this chapter if you have chosen Choice B!!Houses in your neighborhood were starting to be abandoned. You were extremely lucky with the items you found in the Walmart, however, you didn't know if you could ever return. You stayed inside your house, too afraid to leave. Everyday, the news warned people of places that were being infested. Tips were being posted everywhere on what to do and how to survive. You found yourself writing them down.
Your asshole of a professor cancelled the assignment, something you found rather rare for the ruthless teacher. She instead posted a note that said: Stay safe. Assignments will be posted when everything is safer. You wanted to cry.
A house a block or two down set on fire due to it being abandoned with an oven on. Apparently, it was a small family who had quickly left their house in hopes of avoiding the flesh-eating creatures. Police and firemen assumed they had done it on a whim, because they had been in the middle of cooking food and their oven was still on. All that remained of the house was ashes. The family was no where to be seen.
Apparently, the creatures- now officially called zombies on the news- were moving towards your town, fast. People were evacuating quickly, but they found they had no idea where to go. One neighbor stocked up on gas and claimed, "I'll go where the car takes me.", then drove off. His house was left empty.
A week had passed, and all these events had left you tired, confused and worried. You were in your bed, thinking of things to do. You could easily leave, it wasn't hard. Although you would miss your flat, you didn't need to stay here. You had supplies (although limited). The issue was, you didn't know where to go. Who could help in a time like this? People were cruel in life or death situations, and if they saw a young person with supplies, who knows what would happen next?
You pulled out your phone and texted Rain, who was still with her brother, Josh. She had updated you on her situation throughout the ordeal, claiming she still had no side effects from the vaccine.
You: Hey.
Rain: What's up, buttercup?
You: Worried, the usual.
Rain: Mhm same, and so is Josh. In fact, the lil brat ate a whole two bags of chips yesterday due to "stress-eating". Nearly beat his ass.
You: lmao classic Josh.
Rain: Anyways, is everything okay? I heard about your whole town almost being attacked.
You: Yeah, I think Ima find somewhere to stay.
Rain: Good idea. I may follow you, my town is hella close to yours and I don't wanna be next on a zombie's dinner plate.
You: Agreed. Text me if you find anything good.
Rain: Of course. You sighed, turning off your phone and rubbing your temples. Why is this happening now of all times? Couldn't the apocalypse wait a few years, until you graduated college, lived in a proper house and had a stable job? That way, you could fly out to a new country and leave behind all your problems. No, instead the apocalypse chose to come at the worst time of your life- a college student struggling through school. Perfect.
You wanted to watch more television. You hated to admit it, but the news had become a daily watch for you. Sometimes, the news would put on cheesy words of advice or tips to help you survive, that would make you laugh because of its stupidity. Although, sometimes professionals would suggest ways to survive, which you wrote down in a journal. You had the journal close to you at all times now, and as you walked to the living room, you had grabbed it off your desk.
You sat on your couch, and you turned on your TV. The news channel had popped up instantly, since you watched it almost everyday. Linda Clark had been replaced by Dante White, due to Linda moving away towards safety. Dante was a real pleasure, you honestly liked him more than Linda. His smile wasn't perfect like Linda's and his hair was poofy. He was a goof compared to her, and you loved it.
You payed attention when Dante opened his mouth to speak, hoping for something good to leave it.
"We have word that the zombies are starting to migrate all over cities. The zombie numbers are increasing rapidly, so much so that specialized military are unable to decrease the growing size. Some men have even joined the creatures."
You started rapidly tapping your fingers, as Dante took a breath.
"We have received information that the zombie population is spreading to Landington..." Please don't say your town.
"Westlen"
Please don't say your town.
"Avesburg"
Please don't say your town.
"And..."
Please.
"(Your town.)"
Fuck.
Well, if you didn't want to move before, it seemed now you had no other choice.
