About a week after the incident happened, Raven hadn't heard from Dave in a while. She began to wrap it around her head that she wasn't ever gonna see him again. She knew it wasn't gonna happen, even though she had a glimmer of hope that he was gonna come any minute and spend time with her, or at least see her. But nothing happened for days. She wanted to go find him and apologize for lying to him but was too afraid to do so. She just wanted everything she had back. Just to feel like ever was normal, just to feel like she was dreaming and everything would be back to normal. She eventually went to her bathroom and washed off her face. She opened her mirror and found some pills: vertigo. She knew if she had to feel ease, she was gonna have to do something she never would've done any given day.
She thought about it for a moment before she decided what to do. She took the pills, swallowing 4 of them. It slowly started to warp her mind and body. She couldn't handle it. Everything looked like a film in a kaleidoscope and she was high as hell. She didn't know what was happening, but she was hoping it would lead to her death. Everything went black as she passed out on the floor, bag of vertigo in hand. Something unmentioned: she wasn't a drug dealer or user. She had never seen those pills before and assumed they were David's and he just misplaced them. What she didn't know was that she was being set up. Set up by someone she didn't know.
About an hour passed as she laid passed out on the floor, maybe dead. She wasn't however. She did eventually wake up with an intense headache. She was in so much pain, physically and mentally. She didn't remember anything that happened within what felt like four years. Soon, she crawled over into the hallway and into the livingroom when there was a knock on the door. She regained her strength and didn't remember anything for a moment as she walked to the door to answer.
"Hi, uh... D-Diana? Is this her?"
"Uh, oh! Yes it is. Uh do I know you?"
"No ma'am. I'm Joel Berghult. I'm from here and I'm looking for David. Is- is he here?"
"Uh no I haven't heard from him in a week."
"Oh. I'm sorry, I thought he would be here. I hadn't heard from him either. I'm sorry to bother you Diana."
"Wait, you haven't heard from him either? And, and, and how do you know I'm friends with him?"
"Oh, uh he talks about you a lot with me. I don't know about anyone else. But no I haven't heard from him either, neither has anyone else. "
"What? No one else?"
"No one else. I hope he's okay."
"Me too. I'm sorry I couldn't be any help."
"Its okay. I'll go check on him in his apartment. "
"Okay. I'll text him, and I guess I'll see you later."
"Okay, uh thank you Diana."
"No problem. "
Joel left and she went back to her couch. She thought David was just out there in another place, trying to relax himself and swallow everything she had told him. She didn't think too much of it and just laid back down on her couch for a while when suddenly, she got a phone call. It was from someone named Hannah, Hannah Brown. She didn't answer it, thinking it was a scammer. Suddenly she got another call, same name. She declined, but then the person called again and she caved in and answered the call. "Hello? Hi! Yes this is Diana. His sister? Okay. No I haven't heard from him in a week. Have you? Well I guess if you did you wouldn't be calling. I'm sorry, I'll check in on him soon. Okay thank you, bye." She hung up and started to get worried. She tried to push it aside and forget about it when she got another knock at the door.
It was two policemen, asking her if she knew anything about David. She did but she still didn't hear from him in a while. They asked to search her house for him, and they had a warrant. She had to give in and left them to it. She panicked thinking his body would be found in her basement without her knowing. Raven didn't know what he was doing nor that he had gone missing. She had gotten so scared that something bad happened to him and she gotten so frustrated with what was going on. Suddenly the two policemen approached her and asked her about the drugs she found earlier. She didn't know anything about vertigo nor had she done a drug before. However she did confirm that she did use it this morning by "mistake" even though she used it to try and commit suicide. They left after they decided to look in her basement. She didn't know what they wanted or what they found.
She ran down to the basement and rushed to find whatever it was that was found. She turned on the light and found nothing. She turned it off and on a few times she still found nothing. She ran and searched the whole thing but found nothing. She fell onto her knees in pain and shock. She didn't understand what happened or why she didn't know. She was shaking like she had seen a ghost beat her mother to death. Everything felt like it was unreal and she was dreaming. First, the monitor exposed her to the dark reality of her life and now this. She crawled back up the stairs and laid on the last upper one before she went into her living room, calling David. She gotten no answer and called him 4 times more to see what the hell was going on. It went to voicemail each time. She gotten sick to her stomach and sobbed her eyes out, thinking he was dead. She didn't know what was going on and was beaten black. She didn't know the real dark reason sadly.
