Long locks of blonde hair flew through the air gracefully, flowing wildly behind the figure of a woman who was crouched on top of a building. Fumiko's usually tamed hair was currently out of control. She had just been unfortunate enough to break the only hair tie she had brought.

It was an awful continuation of her already awful week. She never thought it would go worse than it already was; but it did. Nevertheless, the woman had a job and letting her frustration get to her would be unprofessional.

Fumiko clicked her tongue against her teeth, running a hand through her hair as she scanned the streets of Los Angeles thoroughly. Her search was, unfortunately, not going very well. From her distance, the people looked like ants bustling their way through mounds of soil. A single villain was not in sight. Although this can also be seen as a fortunate dilemma, at least civilians were able to prance about without villains around.

Standing right on the streets was a much better option, the hero realized. The blonde readied herself and her quirk to jump off the tall building. Energy that resembled lightning slowly started to cover her body, mostly her legs for she was preparing to jump.

Soft sizzles lingered in the air as her quirk continued to engulf her figure. If it was not for the very distinct color her quirk had, people would've mistaken it as lightning. Instead of the usual faint yellow color that lightning had, her power resembled the color of the sea.

It was a compliment to the dull bluish gray color her eyes had, a deep color that symbolized power and knowledge.

Both are things many knew she had.

As she was about to leap off the edge, her phone started to ring, feeling a soft vibration on her hip. Her quirk faded and the sizzles came to a stop as she reached for the device that she kept safely hidden in her belt compartment. Not bothering to check the name, Fumiko pressed the green button before placing the phone beside her ear.

"Hello? I'm on patrol right now so this better be important—"

"Fumiko." The caller spoke, effectively cutting her words off.

The woman froze upon hearing the man's voice, a bit startled by the suddenness of the call.

"Yes, Dad?"

Now, don't get her wrong, Fumiko deeply loved her father and was very willing to do everything for him. But his calls were something that she did not look forward to. He was always talking about one thing:

"Please go back to Japan."

And it was something that Fumiko has dreaded to do for so long.

"I've told you many times, Dad. I'm not going back to there. I don't want to." She pressed, making it clear that she wasn't changing her mind.

For a few seconds, silence loomed over the two's conversation, both parties thinking of what to say.

"Do you still have those nightmares?" Her father asked hesitantly, as if he was treading on a very thin layer of glass.

"No!" Fumiko denied, a little bit too quickly. She sighed, fumbling over her words. "It's not that, l-look, it's been years since that incident, I'm already over it. In fact, I sleep almost eight hours everyday! It's just that my career here in America is not easy to leave, Dad." She explained.

"I'm the number three hero here. A lot of people are expecting a lot from me, I can't just leave them—" She continued, telling her father that she had many reasons to stay in America. The same reasons she also used to convince herself.

"We haven't seen him for years, Fumiko, and even if he returned, I believe we have the upper hand." Her father explained.

"Upper hand? He left a permanent mark on you! I know for a fact that the injury you have on the side of your torso is still there, even to this day."

"Yes, but—"

"You almost died!" Fumiko exclaimed, remembering the events that took place five years ago. "And I will never forget what he did to me, Dad." She murmured, unconsciously shivering as she felt traces of the man's hands around her neck. She will never forget the feeling she gets every time she looks at her reflection in the bathroom, countless scars have permanently etched themselves onto their back as if they were already there since birth.

"I've found a successor, Fumi. I found a boy worthy of my quirk." Her father explained, as if the statement would manage to convince the woman to drop everything and return the the place she once called home.

But America was her home now. It provided her comfort and a sense of safety Japan could never give her.

Fumiko merely scoffed, "And what's that successor going to do if that monster returns?" She knew of the effects of her father's quirk, One for All, to its new users. If their body hadn't grown used to it, then they're as good as mush.

Besides, if All Might in his prime struggled against All for One, how will a boy who had only recently received One for All do better?

Battling the villain was a lost cause, Fumiko realized that after practically partaking in a one-sided battle against the man.

"Please just—just think about it, okay?" Her father said, before murmurs were heard from the background. "I have to go, Fumi. I'll call you back whenever I'm free. I love you, kid."

"Love you too, Dad and please stop calling me 'kid', I'm already 23." Her father only chuckled, before ending the call. Fumiko placed her phone back in its holster, looking off into the distance and losing herself in her thoughts.

Her father was Japan's number one hero and was known as the 'Symbol of Peace'. Though the name brought comfort to many, it brought the opposite feeling to Fumiko Yagi.

Many saw Toshinori Yagi, or All Might, as someone who is always there to save the day with a huge grin plastered on his face.

Her father, like many others, is only human. But people tend to overlook that and end up relying everything on him. That brings Fumiko to a question she had been asking for so long: what will the world do if the symbol of peace's flames finally die out?

Of course, there were also other heroes that are ready to step atop the pedestal All Might was currently standing on, but will they manage to live up to the people's expectations just like All Might did? Will they be ready to carry the burden that the number one hero has been carrying all this time?

Will they be able to stand their ground against All For One?

Everything is left to One for All's successor if the dreaded inevitable did happen. They must ignite a fire of their own, one far stronger and fiercer than All Might's flames.

Thoughts? Also, yes, Fumiko is the daughter of All Might and is also a pro-hero!
