A/N Hi so just to mention that I've been going through a bit of writers block for this, but I was literally just reading through the summary and I noticed that today, 17th March 2021, (the day I'm writing this) is Violet's birthday so I decided to make a chapter about it - but some other stuff too :)

The winter cold was thawing away and it was March in my third year. For some reason, I had a small feeling that something was soon going to go wrong - because things have gone wrong in the past for me as you know.

Also, in the last few weeks some 4th year Slytherin boys - Avery, Nott, Mulciber and Lestrange I think they're called, have been bullying some first years. I saw them do it on an afternoon a few days ago - and wanted to help the first years out so badly. Before going back to class, I saw Tom walk over to the group of Slytherins and look at them with a smirk - as if he was in control of them. He was younger than them but they seemed to look at him as their leader.

I finally went to bed, after having to write a huge and tiring essay on Vampires for Defence against the Dark Arts. I was slightly excited for the day tomorrow - since I was turning 14 and we were visiting Hogsmeade that day.

I woke up to Swift pecking at me. He had somehow managed to get out of his cage without me opening it. I'm pretty sure that owls can't be escape artists but my one surely can. He was carrying a couple letters from friends. Then I remembered. I was fourteen now! I smiled and got up.

On the notice board I saw an advertisement for the duelling club which was going to happen tomorrow. That sounded so fun! My friends came down and I showed them it. They then gave me my birthday presents. I got a new jumper and also some new books which I loved.

Soon, at about 10AM we got to leave for Hogsmeade. There were a few people I recognised who were coming too. Tom wasn't. This isn't what he would want to do, I'm guessing.

First was Honeydukes - and there were so many delectable sweets there and they lined every inch of the walls. I stuffed my pockets with all of the sweets I could find, that I could afford. I don't really have that much money so I spent it on some Fizzing Whizbys, some chocolate and a handful of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans from a barrel by the door. There were also some huge sherbert lemons that seemed to be flying around, but I couldn't afford them.

We also got to have a quick look in the Three Broomsticks. I ordered a butterbeer, but then the owner of the pub came and surprised me with a birthday cake. I seriously wasn't expecting that - Mary later told me that she arranged it. Liza also bought me a few things from Zonkos Joke shop to surprise me. I seriously have the best friends. They are like family to me - me who is a person who has nobody to call family.

💠The next day, it was the day of the duelling club. I got there and to my surprise I saw most of the second year and third year students there. Dumbledore, and another teacher who I didn't recognise were running it. We actually learnt a few new spells there - including Expelliarmus. After that, we got to go up on the long table and fight. I really felt like my wand was really suited to this. I managed to win against a third year Hufflepuff boy, but a girl in second year actually managed to beat me when my shield charm failed really badly. However, when Tom was duelling, he beat everybody he was put against, with ease. A second year girl he was against was actually sent to the hospital wing. I didn't see what he actually did, but it was definitley powerful. He ended up getting 50 points for Slytherin because he had stood up there for so long, unbeaten. I understand why most of the teachers think that he is one of the best students at the school - none but one knowing he is the worst.I ended my day reading, because, well, you know me.
