*This chapter starts by going back in time a bit, when (Y/N) tells Error to leave her alone in Nightmare's castle*

Error leaves Nightmare's castle with a broken soul. He opens a portal to his favorite place in this multiverse: Outertale. He sits on the same place that he and you sat the first time you came out of the anti-void. It was also the day that Nightmare started annoying you. Nightmare... That damn bastard. How can you, the precious, innocent and dear (Y/N) join him? Error screams into the starry space, cries angrily, struggling to understand the conflicting feelings that are in his chest. He ends up lying down on the rocky ground and sleeping right there.

When he wakes up the next day, he has pain all over his body and his eyes are burning. He sits down, hugs his knees and stay still a little longer, watching the bright spots in the dark sky until he decides to head back to Ink's house. Once there, no one was home. He eats something, lies down on the sofa and covers his eyes with his arm, crying some more. He didn't even move when he heard the familiar ink portal sound. Ink enters the room tired and goes straight to sit on the sofa when he encounters Error "Error! Stars! Where were you? You simply disappeared without a trace. We were very worried!" "I found where Muffin is." "WHAT? And is she alright!? Where is she?" "She is with Nightmare." His answers were apathetic and he wouldn't look at Ink "And you couldn't save her? Why didn't you call us? But wait... I saw Nightmare just now." Error finally takes his arm away from his face and looks at Ink "He was trying to destroy an alternate universe just now, so Blue and Dream and I stopped searching for (Y/N) and went after him. We barely managed to chase him away and... Error? Are you crying?" Error can't get you and your words out of his mind. He felt a little guilty because what you said was true in a way. "Come here..." Ink pulls his friend up, lifting him off the couch and gives him a big hug. Error winces at the sudden contact, but after a few seconds he hugs him back, crying softly into his shoulder. Ink rubs Error's back and whispers comforting words. He makes the sad monster sit down again "Tell me what happened exactly." He tells him everything that happened and how you chose to be with Nightmare, calling Error a liar. Ink listens intently until the end, where Error is pouting and with arms crossed while Ink is blank-faced. Then the unexpected happens. Ink takes his huge brush and slashes brutally across Error's face, who is shocked as he holds his bruised cheek. "I can't believe it! Error? Snap out of it! How could you leave her with him? It's obvious he's deceiving her. Good and innocent people like her don't do this sort of thing for no reason. Of course she just said that because she's mad at you and let the anger go to her head. She is naive and something must have made her believe in him! You know her better than anyone, you should know that."

Error is perplexed "I..." The shock of reality hits him "How am I so stupid??" "Now it's already done, the important thing is that you noticed your slip and now you can fix it, before Nightmare does something bad to her again" Error gets up from the couch abruptly "You're right, you're right! How could I abandon her like that? She's still my best friend! I'm going right now..." "Wait! Did you forget? You're not alone anymore." Ink Smiles and Error reciprocates.

Ink, Error, Papyrus, Blueberry and Dream are once again in front of the dark castle. Ink asks "Want to do the honors?" Error answers "With pleasure." He summons a Gaster Blaster and destroys the door a third time. Killer was there and the other three appear shortly after. Killer yells "AAAAHHH! What the hell! It was literally fixed today!" Cross is surprised to see the Star Sanses again on the same day "You three again? And you are accompanied by the weirdo and the stretched brother." Horror loses patience "What do you want? Isn't it enough that you beat us a few hours ago?" Papyrus is the first on the other side to say something "We came for the girl" Followed by his brother Blueberry "Give her back now and we'll leave peacefully" Dust threatens "I don't know if you know, but the human came willingly, so I recommend you get out of here before you regret it" That said, the bad Sanses summon their weapons. Dream simply says "So be it" The Star Sanses and company invoke their weapons too. Ink announces "Round 2..." There's tension in the air until Error yells "FIGHT!"

Everyone advances to the center. The fight is intense! Dream vs. Cross, Papyrus vs. Horror, Blueberry vs. Dust, Ink and Error vs. Killer. Arrows, bones, paint, knives, strings and beams of light fly everywhere. A high-pitched scream echoes through the castle "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" "Muffin!!!" Ink says "Go! We'll hold them!" Error teleports to the top of the stairs and runs towards the scream, which seems to have come from the second floor. He runs through the halls, fiercely opening doors until... *BAM!* He opens the door he needed most and what he sees is terrifying. You and Nightmare with bare bottoms, he's on top of you, who's got bloody arms and legs, turned at weird angles, with some bones sticking out. Error loses the last drop of composure "HOW DARE YOU!?" He casts lots of blue strings and traps Nightmare, pulling him off of you. Nightmare speaks calmly "How embarrassing, to be seen in such an intimate moment" He uses his tentacles to snap the strings. Then he lifts his shorts to give more privacy to his exposed privates. "Looks like you changed your mind about your little friend, did you forget she doesn't want you anymore?" "I'm going to take her away from you, you psychopath, and I'm going to make her understand me, even if I have to put senses in her head." Nightmare chuckles as he lifts you, who is half-conscious, off the ground with his tentacles, your limbs falling dead on your sides. He holds your face close to his, touching your cheeks. Error rages "HEY! Let her go!" Nightmare mocks "What is it? Are you jealous?" "Shut up!" Error really wants to fly in the bastard's face but can't risk hitting you. Nightmare finds it funny. "Hahahahahaha" "What do you want anyway?" "Don't you already know? I want to torture this fragile and naive girl until I extract the last drop of suffering from her core and she is completely empty so she can obey me." Nightmare's smile is psychotic and Error goes mad with rage "Let her go and we'll work this out alone. Just the both of us." "Heh, however you want." He throws you into the massive wall, making a big noise "AAAaaahh..." You fall immobile to the floor. Error looks in shock, but soon summons several bones and throws it at the enemy, who mirrors the attack, neutralizing it.

With each passing minute the fight gets more intense. Furniture, walls and ceiling are destroyed while Error doesn't let any debris hit you. This continues for several minutes. Nightmare and Error stare at each other, panting, full of cuts and bruises "I don't understand, Error. I have a reason to want the girl, but what about you? Why do you want to protect her so much?" "Because she was the first person in this hell of life who accepted me for who I am." "Hahahaha! Hilarious" Error grunts and the two advance with a final blow. They are standing with their backs to each other. Then, Error drops to one knee on the floor.
