I could hear them calling my name, asking me to come back, and when I got far enough away they started calling me. I turned off my phone and kept going. I realized I was at school. I walked through the hallways and found my way to the run down buildings by the south end of the property.
I didn't really know where I was going, but one door caught my eye.
I had never been in the old bathroom. 'I might regret this' , I thought to myself as I opened the door. I walked in and everything appeared to be normal, but one thing caught my eye: A bullet hole was in the wall.
Suddenly, it was as if I was there. I could hear them yelling. My sister was freaking out.
" I am going to kill her. I swear I can't do anything else. I tried everything.," Sophie sobbed.
" You can tell someone what happened and then people will know she is trying to hurt you. Why does she hate you so much anyways?" Elle asked. Why did who hate her? I wouldn't know the answer.
" I don't know. I was rude to her and she held a grudge." Sophie said unconvincingly. Elle looked at her sympathetically and tried to comfort her. She walked closer. Sophie was holding the gun in her right hand. She wasn't trying to defend herself, but her hand shot in between them.
That's when I saw it.
Blood. So. Much. Blood.
I ran out of the bathroom. Elle must have wanted me to see that. How else would I have seen the past? I felt like I might throw up. I didn't know where to go. I felt dizzy and everything went black.
Mom(Kelly):
I was fed up with my husband.
Liam needs to control his anger. I can't take this anymore. I really think therapy is the best option. If I ask him, he will say no. But if I tell him, he will have no choice.
"Babe, we are going to therapy." I yelled down the hall. I heard him mumble profanities as he walked towards our room.
" You need help, and our kids need this too. I mean it has been what two weeks and Hailey has run away, and spent the night, god knows where, in that time frame. Sophie is doing well, but she still has anger and so much guilt. I would be lying if I said I don't need this too, but my main focus is to help you three get better." I explained to him.
I would never tell him how much I really needed this.
" How have you stayed sane, through all of this? I know there have been moments where you lashed out, but you have your head on straight, Kelly. How?" Liam asked me.
The truth is: if I don't keep a straight head, this family is as good as gone. I think about Hailey and how she must be feeling. I regret not telling her. Liam and I need to start telling her everything from now on. No more secrets.
" Babe, No more secrets. We tell Hailey everything when we know it. Or this family will never heal. I know Hailey is overwhelmed and she also feels like she can't rely on us for anything. I will not have that be true." I said firmly.
He sighed, " some things she is better off not knowing."
" We said that about Sophie, but she found out anyway." He gave me the look and I knew he didn't want to admit it but we had to do this. I don't know if this was mother's intuition but I felt like Hailey was in trouble.
" I am going to call Hailey. I want her to come back. I need to know she is safe." I said hastily. Liam looked at me strangely.
" Just because you don't care about our daughter doesn't mean I can't." I grumbled as I dialed the phone. I shouldn't have said that, but I couldn't help it.
