Part 46- like a married couple

The rest of yesterday me and Alex pretty much slept all day because the both of us were really tired and the time difference meant that it was late in the UK which we had got used to that time zone just before coming back. Sleeping was definitely a bad idea because the both of us woke up around 3am feeling wide awake and with absolutely nothing to do because its 3am. I got bored very quickly just sitting around after doing nothing but sitting on a plane all day so I decided to drag Alex outside to walk around for a bit. 

Even though it was dark outside there was still a nice amount of warmth to the air like a cool summer evening and the stars could be seen twinkling away in the sky with a tiny slither of the moon amongst them. It was actually a really nice outside why don't more people go out at 3am when they are awake, I might start doing this from now on. Me and Alex walked the streets of my neighbourhood not going in any particular direction just wherever we felt like it and we ended up at the edge of the neighbourhood where houses are further apart and there is a lot more empty space that is owned by no one in particular. I made him walk up this hill with me and we sat down looking at the sky waiting for the sun to rise because it should come over the horizon soon. 

Despite living in California my entire life I have never watched a sun rise here because I have never been up at the right time or if I have its been shut away editing or streaming. I have always wanted to watch the sunrise I just never had to motivation to actually go and do it. Sitting here with Alex felt like a dream living my life doing the things I've always wanted to do with my favourite person. With all my past failed relationships I never thought that I would get to do this sort of thing with someone who treats me well and actually listens to my thoughts and feelings. 

The sun soon made its appearance in the distance making the dark sky lighting it up with amazing colours like pink, purple and orange. These colours continued to fill the sky getting rid of the darkness of the night even though it was only 5am the sky would make you think other wise. The colours soon disappeared and the sky became a beautiful blue colour that would stay for the rest of the day indicating that today will be warm with not much air. 

We made our way back home to do normal morning things like eating breakfast and getting ready for the day which we didn't do before we left. I also decided to text Amelia to see of she would want to come over because we haven't seen each other in a while between me being gone and the both of us being busy its been way too long. Another plus is that her and Alex get along really well so it will be fun to hang out all together. She also hasn't been to my new house very much so there is so many things we could do like swim in the pool or play table tennis with the table I put in the garden because why not. 

Amelia came over a few hours later and I excitedly showed her all the new things in the house before even giving her the chance to sit down. We spent a while catching up and going over things that happened on the trip what I hadn't told her yet I also forget to tell her that me and Alex are official now so of course I had to tell her. 

"Oh and we made it official" I said 

"Finally" she said rolling her eyes 

"No but seriously congrats you two are super cute together" she said 

All 3 of us then decided to go in the pool for a bit because the water was warm from the heaters and the heat outside. I spent a lot of time with Alex at the pools edge with his arm around me or with him pushing me under the water when he felt like it. The two of us make a weird couple because one minute we can be all cuddly and the next we can act like weirdos making weird faces at each other or like we're doing now annoying one another. I like it this way though we know one another's boundaries and won't go too far with teasing but we can also have fun with one another it's just the right balance. 

 Being in the pool kept all of us cool compared to the hot air around us but as soon as we got out and dried off the heat took over and all of us stared sweating even though we weren't doing anything, the air conditioning was on but making little difference to the sweltering heat that wouldn't shift. All plans I had in my head went out the window because none of us could get off the sofa. 

Despite the heat me and Alex were still cuddling as a random Netflix show played, my head was on his chest and my legs were over his and he had his arm around my waist holding me in the position I was in. It was definitely warm sitting like that but there was little difference between doing this and sitting separately so why not cuddle with Alex while he's still here. He started playing with my hair pulling it up into a ponytail to get it off my neck but I didn't have a hair tie on me so he couldn't actually put it up or so I thought. Turns out he had one my hair ties on his wrist and actually put it up for me, I used my hand to feel the ponytail and it wasn't too bad actually I was quite impressed with Alex's skills. 

"You two act like a married couple" Amelia said 

"Do we really?" I asked 

"You really do the way you two annoy each other for fun and then do cute things like that" she explained 

"We kind of do act like a married couple" Alex admitted 

I guess we really do I thought we just acted like any couple but apparently not but it does make us special I guess and I like that thought that we are different. We continued to act like that because Alex felt the need to take my hair down and redo it so that it was prefect and then he kept squishing my face in between tries. I felt bad for Amelia having being to be a third wheel but she really didn't care and didn't pay much attention to us more what we were watching. That's all we did for the rest of the day just chill because it was too hot to do anything else really but it was nice catching up with Amelia.
