Lillian was eighteen years old and had found out months ago that she was pregnant but she couldn't tell her mother because her mother would disown her so she kept it quiet as long as she could. Luckily for her she was carrying inward so it didn't look like she was gaining much weight and her mother just thought she was getting fat. She was now almost nine months and she knew that she would have the baby anytime so she was trying to avoid her mother as much as she could. Her brother had asked her to go hang out with him for the week because he lived on his own and he lives hours away.
Lillian had woken up about a day ago with some cramping in her lower stomach but brushed it off as braxton hicks. She had felt them more and more all day but thought nothing of it until she had sat down to eat lunch with her brother.
"Oh come on Lils. Why are you not eating? You love it when I make this for you." Her brother said as he watched Lillian push her food around on her plate. She did love his food but the pain in her stomach was becoming too much for her to eat right now.
"I am just not feeling very good right now Ethan. I think I am going to go lay down." Lillian said as she pushed her chair back. When she turned around she grimaced from the pain and hoped that he didn't see it.
"Okay I will put your food away and you can eat it later. Hey I am going to run into work for a little bit but if you need anything all you have to do is call me." Ethan said as he grabbed his bag and walked out the door. Ethan works at a hospital as a surgeon who works on babies so Lillian knew he would be gone for a while since he was called in. She made her way up to her room and stopped when she felt the pain in her stomach growing worse signaling her that she was in fact in labor. When she made it to her room she laid down on the bed trying to get a little bit of comfort.
"Ugh I hate this so much. It hurts so badly." Lillian said. She laid on her side and curled up as much as she could without potentially harming the baby and she fell asleep. She woke up some time later to her brother shaking her awake.
"Hey Lils are you feeling any better?" He asked her when she finally opened her eyes to look at him.
"No I am not really feeling better. I think I am going to go take a bath. Maybe that will help. My stomach is cramping pretty badly." She told him. He nodded his head and left the room. As soon as he left a horrible contraction ripped through her and it took everything in her not to scream out from the pain. As soon as it passed she made her way to the bathroom and she turned the water on for the tub.
"Ahh I regret not telling mom about this. She could be here with me and I won't be alone." She said to herself as another contraction ripped through her. She gripped the side of the bath tub to stop herself from falling over due to the pain. After the bath tub was filled up enough she pulled her clothes of and climbed in just as she felt a gush of water.
"Shit. Shit. Shit. My water just broke." She said as a pain far worse than the rest ripped though her causing her to whimper and fall to her knees. She felt the baby drop into her birth canal. The contraction had just passed as she heard a knock on the door.
"Lillian are you okay? I heard a thud." She heard Ethan call from the other side of the door.
"Yeah I am fi-" She started but was cut off by a contraction that caused her to whimper from the pain. Before she knew it the door flew open and her brother was standing there.
"I knew it. I knew you were pregnant and now your in labor." Ethan said as he looked at Lillian who obviously looked pregnant without her baggy clothes on.
"Ethan mom can't know. If she knew she would disown me." She cried out as another contraction ripped through her stomach. She wrapped her arms around her stomach and cried out from the pain.
