Ashley and her friends were going on a retreat for single pregnant ladies. They were both a little bit over eight months pregnant and excited to go in this retreat. They had been driving for hours and they were now stuck in traffic behind a car crash.
"Girl why are we stuck in traffic. My back is aching so much." Eliza said as she rubbed her back.
"I know but who knows how long we will be here. Why don't you lean your seat back maybe that will help some." Ashely said. Ashely was lucky because she was born with Congenital Insensitivity to pain which means she can't feel any pain but she was told that could be very dangerous because she won't be able to feel it when she goes into labor.
"That's not helping. Ugh I need to get out of the car and stretch my legs for a minute." Eliza said. Since they were in a stand still Eliza unbuckled her seat belt and climbed out of the car and began to stretch her legs. After a few minutes she climbed back into the car.
"Girl these braxton hicks are kicking my butt. You are so lucky that you don't feel pain. These hurt so much." Eliza said as she rubbed her stomach. Ashely rubbed her stomach with her hand that wasn't on the wheel and gasped when her stomach felt hard.
"Umm what did they say your stomach would feel like when you went into labor?" Ashely asked while she turned to her friend.
"Umm they said that your stomach would feel hard or tight because your muscles are contracting why?" Eliza asked as she looked at her friend confused.
"Oh no reason. I was just curious." Ashely told her friend. Her stomach has softened up again so she just focused on the road waiting for the cars to move. After sitting there for about an hour an officer had began walking around knocking on car windows and talking to the drivers. After a while the officer had knocked on the window of Ashely's car and she rolled down the window.
"Hello ladies. I am sorry for the delay but there was a multiple car crash up ahead. We are working as fast as we can to get it cleared away but it may be another hour or two before we can get cars moving." The officer said. Ashely nodded as she felt a strange tightening feeling in her stomach. She rubbed her stomach trying to get the tightness to go away.
"Thank you officer for letting us know." Ashely said.
"Would you two ladies need anything like a drink or something. You two look to be about full term. I have a heavily pregnant wife at home and I would hate for her to be stuck here in this traffic jam." The officer said.
"No I think we are okay officer. Thank you through." Eliza said. The officer nodded and walked on to go to the next car. A few moments later Ashely felt the baby drop and she knew she had gone into labor but she didn't want to worry Ashely so she stayed quiet. She just hoped the traffic would clear out soon.
About an hour later they were still sitting there and Ashely knew she was in trouble because she could feel the baby's head pushing at her birth canal. She couldn't feel pain but it felt uncomfortable. The cars in front of her had began to move but they were barely moving forward and she knew she was about to have the baby.
"Okay Ashely what is wrong with you. You have been active weird for the past two hours. You keep shifting around in your seat." Eliza said.
"I just have to pee. This baby is using my bladder as a trampoline." Ashely said. She gasped when she felt the babies head slowly pushing its way out. She sighed because she knew that she was about to have this baby.
"Girl I have to pee as well but you don't see me moving around like crazy so what's really going on?" Eliza said. Ashely sighed because she knew she couldn't cover it up anymore.
"Fine I am in labor and I am about to have this baby. We are stuck in a traffic jam so I can't do anything about it. I didn't want to say anything because the stress of me having this baby can send you into labor and I don't want that because then we would both have to have our babies in a traffic jam." Ashely said.
"Uhh shit I don't know what to do. You can't drive while you are having the baby." Eliza said as she started to panic.
"Eliza calm down. We are at a stand still right now so I need you to grab the towel from the back seat and lay it over my lap so I can take my pants off and not be sewn by the whole world then I need you to unbuckle my seat belt." Ashely said. Eliza grabbed the towel and places it over Ashely's lap as she slid her pants off. She quickly looked down and saw the babies head peaking out of her.
"Okay I need you to grab the pee pad and another towel and I am going to quickly stand up and I want you to place that under me before I start pushing. It's a good thing I work in a nursing home." Ashely said that as she felt the baby slide down lower. The towel was placed under her and she sat down right as she felt a pop and water gush out of her. Ashely grabbed the steering wheel and pushed as hard as she could and she could feel as the babies head made its way farther and farther out of her. She stopped when the tightening in her stomach stopped. She lifted the towel up and saw that the babies head was halfway out at that point.
Just as the tightness in her stoma h returned there was a knock on her window and the officer was back at the window.
"Here I got the two of you a bottle of water. We are almost done here then we will get all of you out of here." The officer said.
"That's great except my friend here is in labor." Eliza said earning herself a smack from Ashely.
"Oh that's not good. Umm do you know how far you are." The officer said as he started to look around.
"Actually the head is almost out. I have a disorder where I don't feel pain. I can just feel a tightness in my stomach." Ashely said as she pushed again. She felt the head fully slip out of her as well as a gush of water.
"Umm I am going to go get another officer to come over here. We will get you to the back seat and we will help you get that baby out then we will get you to the hospital." The officer said. Ashely nodded and Eliza in time to see her face contort with pain. There was a sudden wetness on her pants and Ashely knee she was in labor as well.
The officer returned with a second officer and was about to open the door when Eliza cried out in pain.
"Officer worry about her. I just have to get the shoulders out then I am fine. Her water just broke." Ashely said. The officers protested but eventually went over to Elizas side of the car. Ashely checked for the cord around the babies neck and pushed. She held onto the babies head and felt the shoulders slip out one by one. She gave one final push and the baby fully slipped out of her. She pulled it above the towel and held it against her chest as Eliza yelled out from pain. Ashely looked over to see a buldge in her pants that was growing.
"Ugg you lucky mother Fucker not being able to feel the pain." Eloza cried out. The officer had her turn so they could help her get the baby out. Twenty minutes later Eliza and Ashely both had their babies laying on their chests as they were in the back of a cop car on their way to the hospital.
"Hey at least now we don't have to go to the retreat because we are no longer single and pregnant now we are single and mothers." Ashely said earning a slap from Eliza. They were checked out and they both had healthy baby girls.
