Transition

I was on the couch, Winwin's hands on my shoulders as Kun paced back and forth in front of us. He tilted his head at both of us, trying to understand the situation.

"You both are going to get engaged? Not even going to wait it out?" he asked and Winwin shook his head, his arms tightening around me. "You haven't been together for more than two months, Sicheng—"

"I want what I want," Winwin replied simply. "And there is no better time than now. It's just an engagement, Kun-ge. Not like we'll get married straight away."

Kun wiped the bottom of his lip when the door to Winwin's office opened and a girl stepped in. Her eyes were strained on me and I recognized her. Chenle's sister. I have heard about her a lot. I heard how difficult it was to deal with her.

"Qian Kun." She lowered her sunglasses and stared at me. "So... you are the one who has been harboring my brother."

I smiled, giving her a firm nod. Kun whipped his head around to jerk his head at us, as if to tell her that he had news.

"They are going to get engaged."

"Well, that's better than getting married straight away. If you both get married, you'd have to get divorced." She clicked her tongue. "At least breaking engagements are like break ups."

"We're not going to break our engagement."

"That's what they always say, Sicheng," she said, taking a seat. "Mercy, is it?"

"Shanghai, is it?" I asked back, Shanghai putting her wallet beside her as she leaned back to study me. "I've heard a lot about you."

"I wish I could say the same." She sighed. "Sadly, I don't hear enough about you. Kun, why are you walking back and forth? I saw your car upfront, by the way. You didn't park straight."

Kun narrowed his eyes at her, Shanghai smirking. The door opened and I saw Chenle peek into the room, the male zooming in when I saw him reach for his sister's wallet. Out of habit, I found myself saying his name and giving him a shake of my head.

"Chenle."

He pouted at the sound of my voice, dropping the wallet and throwing his hands in the air before he stomped out of the door. I saw Shanghai stare at me with her eyes wide open.

"How'd you do that?" she whispered, Kun suddenly snapping his fingers.

"Right? I asked the same thing. Did I tell you about the bokchoy?"

Shanghai nodded. "Yes! You told me about the bokchoy! She makes Sicheng eat your bokcchoy!" She leaned forward. "Teach me your ways, Mercy."

"Alright, this is uncalled for. Jiejie, Kun-ge, I have something to do today." Winwin paused before he corrected himself. "We have something to do today. We just wanted you both to be the first to know."
