Waking up late on a Saturday was one of the best feelings ever. It was also one of the worst, it leaves you with only two more days until Monday.
Everybody loves Mondays.
Last night was opposite of bliss, the only memories was of me beating Matt in that game, and crying. I did wake up in my house though so I'm guessing he dropped me off.
I yawn and hop out of bed, the shaggy carpet nuzzling at my toes keeping them warm. I check my phone and see a few messages from Christopher and a missed call from my mom, I go to text her but see Matt had already beaten me to it, writing her that I fell asleep at his place and he dropped me off here.
She's most likely at work now so it shouldn't be a problem that Matt and Cassidy swing by later.
I walk to my closet and grab my towel and undergarments, walking outside my room into the bathroom and turning on the water to colder than what I usually shower with.
After a couple minutes in the shower I hear some weird noise from my side of the house but I ignore it seeing it might be my imagination. I look quickly behind the shower curtain though just to be sure there's not a murder waiting for me. Finishing up my shower I turn off the water and dry up a little so it's easier to put on my bra and stuff.
I dry my hair a little too and walk out the bathroom and down the hall into my room, only to scream at the sight.
"Ahhh! What the shit are you doing here? Looking at that picture?!" I scream fumbling with my towel to wrap it around my body.
Matt sits there laughing as he continues to look at an very old picture of me on Halloween, let's just say braces and short hair was not my style.
I run over to him and try to snatch the picture away from him but he stands up and raises it above his head still laughing, knowing that I can't reach it from the height.
"But you look like that girl from Finding Nemo!" Matt squeals laughing his heart out.
I tippy toe to try and get the photo from him but he keeps raising it higher.
"What are you even doing here?" I give up trying and slip on some sweats and a hoodie.
"Well I did text you saying I'm coming over but you didn't answer so I guessed you were in the shower which you were, so when I got here I came to your room and saw this little lady under your nightstand." He winks towards the end of his sentence, me sending him death glares.
I check my phone and sure enough there's a text from Matt just like he said.
I put my phone down and look up at Matt to see him already looking at me with a sympathetic face.
"What?" I scrunch my eyebrows together.
"Want to tell me about last night?" He gestures for me to sit next to him.
I tell him about the texts I received last night and I could have sworn I saw a year fall out his eyes, it could've been me though.
"I'm so sorry briar, just know you are very beautiful and very talented." he embraces me in a hug rubbing my back.
"Thanks ugly." I joke.
"I compliment you and that's how you repay me?, I see." he fake pouts.
"Shut up you know you love me." I laugh walking downstairs.
A minute later Matt joins me in the kitchen, raiding the fridge until he find something he likes.
"We need jobs.." I sigh, I get so bored with my daily routines, sure it was fun hanging out with my friends and playing violin but I need other stuff to do.
"I think their hiring at that restaurant not to far from here." he chuckles.
"You mean the one with a club in the back?"
He nods and I sit back in my seat thinking over weather I should consider it or not.
"You should try out for it, you could be a waitress or something." He continues to persuade me..

-Two Hours Later-

It's not a waitress but it puts money in my pocket...
Ewww a chicken bone.. This person left not a single vain on this poor bone.
My thoughts shattered, almost like the extra dishes being placed in front of me as I continued to clean them.
Yea, about an hour ago I came to the restaurant me and Matt were talking about earlier, I spoke to the manager and he said I could wash dishes for now unless a employee didn't show up then I could wait tables.
I was fine with that, 9$ an hour plus minimum wage and possible tips didn't seem to bad so I accepted his offer.
I had about an hour left of my shift until I could go home, I was just about done washing dishes until my boss Mr Clarke-Brian called me into his office.
"Hello," I said awkwardly.
"Have you ever waited tables before?." he said getting straight to the point.
"Yes I have some experience on it.." I shift to one side slightly looking around the big office.
"Great, take these and get started on it, thanks."
He handed me an apron with a whole bunch of pockets, a note book, pens, and some checks. I took them quickly and tied the apron on placing everything in it. He told me the tables I attend to and I thanked him, walking out.
As I walked out the office I see a couple sitting down in one of the tables I'm supposed to greet, I grab a few menus behind me and make my way over there.
"Hello my name is briar and I'll be your waitress for tonight's dinner." I begin setting down the menus, "can I get you any drinks or are you guys all set to order?" I ask taking out the note book and pen.
The couple orders their meals and some drinks, I take down everything and repeat it back to them making sure I get everything correct.
"Your new here aren't you?" The woman asks and I nod,
"Yes ma'am." I smile. "How did you know?"
"All the other waiters are not as young and polite as you are." she smiles.
I thank her and walk back to the kitchen giving the cooks the order.
I take and serve a few other tables orders doing the same process. I step out to the back of the restaurant, needing a breath of air, just after a few seconds I see a man stumbling out side the club part of the building clutching his head.
I look around nervously seeing we were the only people out here.
"E-Excuse me miss? Can you please get me a glass of water?" The man asked me groaning a bit, he looked about 18, a year older than me. I simply nodded going back inside to get water.
Water is free, right? I mean come on its water.
I walk back outside and see the man sitting on the floor, one leg propped up, still holding his head in his hands.
"Here you go sir, a-are you okay?" I hand him the glass and he quickly drinks it, then throws it against the wall making me jump.
"Does it look like I'm fucking okay?!" He yells taking his hand off his head revealing bloody fingers.
I gasp, not only from the amount of blood on this man but the sight of his eyes, call me cheesy but they were such a beautiful shade of blue and green.
"Oh my god!.. Hold on, I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere!" I tell him, running back in the restaurant taking off my apron. I tell one of the other waiters that I have to leave and to cover for me, I grab my phone and a sweater from the 'lost-and-found' bin inside, I call an ambulance for the man outside giving them the address.
Running back outside I take the sweater and hand it to him, he understands what it's for and pressed it to his head.
"Sir w-what's your name?." I ask bending down next to him.
"Daniel.. Peters, Daniel peters." He sighs.
"Ok daniel, I'm briar. I've called an ambulance and they should be here in a few minutes. Do you think you could last?" I ask nervously.
