It had been a few days and I'd really grown to like Marinette. She was a sweet girl, very kind and understanding. But she also had a sassy side that I really liked to see. It was fun.
"Alright, class. Today we'll be doing a project on a different culture with your seat partners." Marinette and I fist-bumped each other. "The culture will be assigned, so no one can complain if they don't get the culture they want." Madam Bustier said. "The project will be presented tomorrow, and the sheet I'm handing out now will give you the requirements and recommendations for the project." I nodded.
"Thank you." I whispered as I got my sheet, and passed Marinette hers. We looked it over, and I noticed we'd been assigned Japanese culture. How lovely, we'll have an advantage.
"So we could work on the project at my house." Marinette suggested. We'd spent after school the day before at her house playing video games and doing homework.
"Hmm. How about we go to my house this time?" I suggested. "My parents and siblings are still in Japan, so we'll have the house to ourselves," I told her. "And we might be able to video call my friend group since it'll be about nine-thirty when we get there."
"That's a good idea." She said.
After deciding that we went over what we would do for the project, deciding to go with a poster board presentation. I suggested that after we do the poster board, we go to her parent's bakery and ask for help making a traditional Japanese sweet, which she loved.
After school, we walked home, and she was in shock to see the estate. I laughed at her reaction, and gently guided her inside, and into my room. She was still so weirded out by how big my house was as I took out the necessary supplies.
"You live here?" She asked finally, making me laugh.
"Technically no, I do live in Japan. But my family owns this estate."
"Your family owns this," she trailed off, "what? Who is your family?"
"Hmm?" I hummed looking at her. "Oh, I didn't tell you?" She shook her head. "I'm a member of the Brigole family." I showed her my necklace, which was a family heirloom, a ring that had our family crest on it. Austin had a necklace charm, and Dallas had a matching ring.
"Whoa." She mumbled.
"Yep. Y/N Brigole."
"I had no idea."
"Well, I find it easier to make friends with people in public schools if they don't know I'm rich." I told her.
"That makes sense." She agreed.
"Oh!" I stood up and ran over to the TV. "I told my friend group about the project and they are more than happy to help. They've lived in Japan either all of their lives or at least more time than I have." I said, turning on the TV, and opening the video calling app.
"Really?" I nodded, smiling at her before I called the group.
The Host Club has a club phone and number which I can call and video call. But it is club policy that it remains in the club room, and is never taken home by anyone. Kyoyo told me that. The group I'm calling is everyone's individual numbers at their home. I don't expect Haruhi to answer, since she's probably busy and told me she might not be able to, but I know everyone else will.
"Hey!" They exclaimed happily.
"Hi, guys!"
"How are all your friends so attractive?" Marinette stammered quietly, making me laugh.
"Guys this is Marinette." I beamed. "She's working on the project with me. And we needed your help with it."
"We're more than happy to help." Kyoyo smiled.
"But first!" Hikaru said. I sighed, as Marinette came to sit next to me in front of the TV.
"What?" She asked.
"We heard you're a fashion designer." Kaoru said.
"Formal introductions first, actually. Marinette, the twins are Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin. The one with glasses and black hair is Kyoyo Ootori. The blond with violet eyes is my darling boyfriend Tamaki." He blew a kiss to me, and I smiled. "The other blond is Mitsukuni Haninozuka, but we all just call him Honey or Honey-Senpai." I said, waving to my upperclassman who was jumping up and down and waving at us. "And the guy beside him is Takashi Morinozuka, and we call him Mori or Mori-Senpai." I finished. "Guys, this is Marinette Dupain-Cheng." I introduced, before taking a deep breath.
"It's wonderful to meet you all!" Marinette called.
"Wonderful to meet you too!" They agreed.
"Now, you're a fashion designer?" Kaoru continued. She nodded vigorously.
"We'd love to see some of your designs." Hikaru said.
"Oh, sure." She said, walking over to her bag and grabbing her sketchbook. She opened it and showed them the page, flipping through a few pages so they could see it.
"Those are great designs!" Kaoru complimented.
"Indeed. I think you have a future in the fashion industry." Kyoyo agreed.
"Really?" She asked hopefully. "That means a lot to me! Thank you!" She beamed. We chatted for a few more minutes before we actually started on the project, which they were more than happy to help with.
Once done with that, she said goodbye and left the room while I said goodbye. Tamaki hung up last, and I told him that I loved him, blew him a kiss, and told him goodnight. He smiled sleepily before repeating my statements and hanging up.
Marinette and I journeyed to her parent's bakery, where they helped us make the sweets we discussed. The project was a hit the next day. Everyone loved the sweets, and insight into what Japanese culture is like. However, since we got such a good grade, we were the victim of Lila's hateful glares.
On a happy note for Marinette, Adrien liked the presentation. He seemed very interested in it, and that kind of worried me.
It was very obvious that he didn't believe he reciprocated her feelings. He's also very oblivious to hers. But it's possible, very possible, that he doesn't realize that he loves her. And if he realizes that, it could pose a problem.
I like Marinette, genuinely. And I want her to be happy, even if that means staying at her school now. But I also want her to come back with me to Ouran. I think she'll be happy there, especially with all the connections she'll make with the Hitachiin twins. Those connections could catapult her up in the fashion industry. And if Adrien realizes that he loves her or begins to love her, that could throw a wrench in the whole operation.
