(Pretend that the bathroom scene in this and all other chapters take place in gender-neutral bathrooms so I don't have to specify gender or let you assume that you're in the female bathroom.)
Two weeks have passed since I first arrived in Paris, and the amount I've learned is a little concerning. Lila doesn't like me or Marinette, because she can't boss me around and Marinette is under my protection. Lila is a cruel witch, in a very bad way.
Marinette is showing definite interest in my school back in Japan. After she asked I told her loads and showed her pictures of the campus. On top of that, I put her in direct contact with the Hitachiin twins, who were very interested in her designs.
I've met most of her "friends", including Luka Couffaine, who also has feelings for her, and she has feelings for him. But he will not pose a problem, since he wants her to be happy. Even if it's not with him.
I was in a bathroom stall at lunch one day, thinking about whether or not I would tell Marinette that I would like her to join me at Ouran when I leave. I had decided I would give it a little more time when I heard both Lila and Marinette enter the bathroom.
I quickly pulled out my phone to record the interaction, knowing this could be used later on. Kyoyo had taught me that. Enough leverage can be detrimental to someone's reputation. And I was not looking for leverage on Marinette but on Lila. Because they thought they were alone, and Lila would definitely be herself. Her wicked, disgusting, self. If she is about to do what I think she's about to do, this will ruin the web of lies she's been constructing.
How wonderful.
(Insert the famous bathroom scene here)
Once Lila left, I opened my stall door and stopped the recording. I walked over to Marinette and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. She hugged me, and I hugged her back, gently patting her head.
"Don't worry Marinette. I'll make sure she doesn't lay a finger on you." I told her. She nodded. She hugged me for a few moments more before letting me go to quickly fix her makeup. "Marinette." She looked over at me. "If you want to, you could always come back with me. To Ouran." I offered gently.
"Really?" She asked.
"It is entirely up to you. And you have a bit of time to decide. I don't leave for another week and a half." I smiled. "Let's get you something to eat though, you look hungry." She nodded thoughtfully, and we left the bathroom to head to the lunchroom.
After we got our lunch and started talking. We were actually talking about my sister, and how Marinette wanted to design something for her. She found her pastel sense of style interesting and wanted to see what she could do with it.
"Hey, Y/N." Lila called from another table, walking over, causing everyone to look at me.
"Yes?" I snapped.
"What do you identify as?"
"A threat." I said without missing a beat and turning back to my lunch. Marinette snickered, and everyone was still staring at me.
"I mean are you a boy or a girl?" She asked, more snottily than ever.
"Yes." I said. "Or no. It depends on the day." I shrugged. She scoffed at me and rolled her eyes before going back over to her table.
"What do you mean you identify as a threat?" Alya asked.
"That's for me to know and you to possibly find out." I said, taking a bite out of my sandwich and continuing to ignore everyone else but Marinette, as we went back to talking about my sister's fashion choices.
"Kyoyo." I said through my phone after school. I had called him.
"What?" He asked.
"I have the very thing that can bring her down." I whispered. "Her whole web of lies, her reputation, everything."
"That Rossi girl?"
"Yep."
"I see. Send it to me."
"Alright."
"I'll look it over, but if you can get more that'd be wonderful."
"But of course. Who do you take me for?" I smiled. "Talk to you soon, Kyoyo. Get some rest."
"Alright." I hung up.
"Hey, Y/N." I saw Marinette waving at me from a group of people. "We're going to get some ice cream, wanna come?" I nodded, smiling, and walked over to them.
The group was the majority of our class, along with Luka Couffaine. There was also a girl I had yet to meet, I learned that her name is Kagami Tsurugi. She looked very similar to Marinette. Lila was there as well. And she was spouting lies, so, I was recording her to see if I could prove her wrong eventually.
"Yes, I have a cousin who goes to Ouran High School in Japan. His name is Dallas Brigole." I choked on my ice cream. As a part of learning to take over the company with Dallas and Austin, I studied our family tree, which was extensive. Nowhere on there was Lila. Nowhere.
"You good?" Alya asked as Marinette patted my back.
"Great." I strained, trying not to laugh but also catch my breath. "Know anyone else at Ouran High School?" I asked Lila, pretending to be genuinely curious.
"I have a betrothed. I'm not supposed to tell you guys but I'm actually arranged to marry the youngest member of the Ootori family." I full-on snorted, knowing that Kyoyo would have a hay-day with this information. "What is wrong with you? Not believe me or something?" I laughed so hard. It took me a full minute to calm down. Once I was done, I noticed that Kagami and Adrien were close. Like, almost as if they were on a date, close.
"Marinette, let me take you home, I have to talk to make a call." I said, kinda wanting to protect her.
She nodded, and I slung my arm around her shoulders, walking her to her house, before calling sending the videos I'd just taken to Kyoyo. I noticed a threatening message from Lila. She was warning me that if I dared to embarrass her like that or go up against her, I'd lose everything.
"The game is on, Lila Rossi." I smirked. "The game is on."
