I've always been a quiet girl, well atleast for as long as I could remember. Always tucked away in the back of my classes or any room in general, always the one to be talked over, always the one left behind. I was so used to it that I didn't see it as a problem most of the times... That was until I met him. See he made me feel seen, he made me feel like I was human and I wasn't used to that so you can only imagine how that went down. But let's start from the beginning.

My name is Amira Dior Cole I am 21 years of age, standing at 5 foot 2 inches and 110 pounds I tend to be the smallest in every group. I grew up with my mother and father, that was until he came back home, he was staying in another country but that's a different story. I have one little sister she's a pain in my ass but thats just how it works I think.
I'm a pisces but I never really paid attention to what most people say about the zodiac signs and their personalities I just think its crap even though some of the memes be hitting home. But that's all your getting for now.

Amira (Mira) POV
Monday 6:30 a.m

The loud song that I set as my alarm from TikTok frightened me from my dream just as it was getting to the nice part.

It way too early fi dah foolishness yah enuh. Make we go back go sleep a wedding alone need bachelors. My subconscious teased

I laughed to myself as rubbed some of the sleepiness out my eyes. I searched for my phone to check the time, seeing that it was time for me to start getting ready for school, I rolled out of my queen sized bed and walked to the bathroom to start getting ready, my family and I live in a small three bedroom 2 bathroom apartment.

I grabbed my towel and walked into my bathroom and started playing Adorn by Miguel, nothing like a little R&B to wake you up the morning. I softly hummed to the lyrics while I did my morning routine

After I was finished with my morning routine I stood in the mirror looking at my chocolate brown skin and I wondered to myself will I ever become confident in myself, after a few minutes of contemplating I just pushed the thoughts away and got ready for school and waited for my dad to drop me off while thought about starting to work, I would like to move out of my parent house they are kind of strict and honestly at my age I think I should be getting some sort of freedom but not in this family, it's always something. After some time of driving my father dropped me in downtown so I could catch the bus to school.

~At School~
When I got to school I slowly walked to my class to see if my one friend was in the class, seeing her I got a bit excited to know that I'd have somebody to talk to for the day. But before I took my seat I went to the canteen and bought a patty and orange juice,

Lunch money done yah now enuh cause why things so dare.

Cyaa me alone hate me subconscious, she is so rude. After purchasing my things I went back up the the class and sat in my usual seat at the back taking in what my lecturer had to say. Mondays are usually really calm for me so I wasn't really feeling under any pressure. I had two classes today one that I hated the second one but I'll be alright,

"Girl please tell me say we don't have any work due for the big belly man later" Brianna asked

" Why you no leave me alone, and no we don't have any work cause him decide him nah collect the thing we do last week so me nuh know how we ago work it out but me nah make him stress me out a rass." I told her

Bri and I have been friends since first year, it's our third year now, but we were never this close our conversations would usually surround group work and nothing more but at the beginning of third year we got really close and she is the person I spend most of my school days with now.

Cyaa wait fi the day done, fi go home and spread off inna we bed cause this nah work.

"Enough about school, what you doing Saturday cause me no know how you love your house so... matter of fact me no business wah yah do, we going out." Bri says

Me affi go suh boom and take off the test glass cause a must Miss Joy dis.

"Bri me tell you say me wah go out? Mommy nah go make me go you know how she stay already" I stated knowing that if I ask my parents are gonna say no. After arguing back and forth with her, she made some good points that I need to start living my life cause I'm in my twenties bla bla bla. Just to cut it short I agreed and made a plan to ask my parents when I get home.

7:00 pm at home.

Slowly walking to my parents room I took a deep breath and prepared to ask them if I can go out leaving out the fine details just stating what they wanted to hear.
" Good night gentle people" my father looked up at me strangely while my mother was reading her bible "So you know how Saturday is right around the corner I got invited out to dinner and I really want to go can I?"
My father looked over to my mother and she shrugged leaving the decision up to him

A dem things yah me cyaa bother with enuh look how him ago shame we my subconscious stressed

He looked back into his phone while I stood there playing with my finger then he said "How yah reach and come home cause me nah come for you"
"Bri could pick me up but if she does I might have to spend the night at her house since it would be closer" I said shyly. I was always a daddies girl and one right move could get me the world and I was prepared to make that happen if he said no the first time and I was surprised when he said
"Okay, you can go just make sure your home for school on Monday." Standing there kind of shocked I smiled and said thank you before he changed his mind. Skipping to my room to let Bri know the plan was on and even better I would get some time away from the house

Bri Bri🥴: yes the girls are finally out I can't wait , me gone look clothes fi wear. If you no hear from me. Mi drop asleep 8:00pm

Excited that I'll finally be able to enjoy something I went to bed dreaming of what could come.
