I woke up to find myself sleeping in the backseat of the car.Looking out the window I saw that we had arrived in front of a pretty white house. "Ya llegamos!"Dad says.My mom and dad begin to unload the stuff from the moving vehicle that had been behind us.I sluggishly put my airpods in and listened to some hispanic pop/prince royce before I stuffed my phone in my back pocket and got out of the car. I look around to find my boxes while my mom calls my aunt to let her know we arrived.I asked my dad,"Appa cual es mi cuarto?",he replied,"El que quieras mija."I nodded my head as I grabbed 2 boxes containing my clothes and wondering inside the house looking for what i would have to consider my room.As i went upstairs I found a nice big room with a mirrored closet and 2 large glass doors that lead to a nice balcony giving me a nice view of the neighborhood.While I was admiring the sight in front of me I saw 3 boys walking down the street as a chubby boy bids goodbye and enters his home,next a young boy also enters his house leaving one walking by himself.He had a jersey that said "Rodriguez" and a blue LA cap.He walked down the street until he stopped and looked up.As our eyes met I gave him a small smile as he did they same before I walked downstairs to get more boxes.As I get down I realize he is talking to my older brother Miguel.I couldn't seem to find my parents so I went towards my brother and asked him where they were."They went over to our aunts house and said we have to finish bringing the boxes in."I sigh as I was about to go and get more boxes until my brother said,"Hey you forgot to greet the neighbor"I turn around to see the boy from earlier sheepishly smiling at me while rubbing his nape."Oh sorry My names Leila Mae Cortez"I said while extending my hand for a handshake,"Im benjamin Rodriguez but all my friends call me Benny."He shakes my hand as I say,"So does that mean I can call you Benny too?"He chuckled as he nodded his head,,"Of Course! I-"Suddenly he was cut off by my brother yelling from inside the moving truck,"LEILA WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE SO MANY BOXES FOR SPORTS!"I bite my lip as I run toward the truck with Benny following me."You play sports?"He says,"Yup I play most sports".He looked at me stunned as he asked,"What about baseball?"I turned around smiling and said,"I just got into it a few months ago actually!"He chuckles while asking,"You got a box for that?"I look around and find a box that says 'Baseball',as I take it out and put it on the floor in front of him."Yup wanna see what I have inside?"He nodded his head as I tell him to follow me to my room.I put the box on my bed as I open it and tell him to look inside.He looks inside and says,"Wow are you sure you started a few months ago?And what's up with all the balls and jerseys?".I take a ball out as I say,"Well I mean i never actually played with these balls I just buy some at a store"I say."what?!Why do you buy more when you already have these!"He says confused.I chuckle as I throw it at him receiving a confused reaction from him."I never play with them because they are signed by different players,mostly from the Dodgers team.Like the one your holding is signed by Babe Ruth."His eyes widen as he inspects the ball."How the hell do you have so many?!"he asks."My dad used to take me to their games when I was little so I had the chance to get some balls signed."I say."Well I gotta go home it's getting late but it was nice meeting you!"He says as he passes me the ball back."Well it was nice meeting you too"I say as we wave goodbye and I go downstairs to finish bringing my stuff to unpack.

The next day-

I woke up to my cousin Alan shaking me."Hey what's your problem man!"I say as I stand up."Mae, I told my friends about you and how you play baseball and they want me to bring you to the sandlot!"He said all in one breath."I'm not going yeah-yeah"I replied."PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLE-"He went on and on until I couldn't take it anymore,"FINE NOW GET OUT SO I CAN CHANGE."He hugged me then left my room saying,"I'LL WAIT FOR YOU ON YOUR PORCH!","Alright"I replied then went to my closet to pick something to wear.I ended up wearing this:<-(Pf flyers)

I take my favorite chapstick,Softlips watermelon chapstick putting some on while walking out of the house.I texted my mom that I would be out with Alan.As I walk out he turns around and says,"Hey you know if you wear that you"ll have them drooling over you!".I walk away saying,"Whatever lets go!"He led the way as we were about to walk in. I told him,"Hey You go ahead in ima go to the store around the corner to get a ball and a drink."He nodded as I jog towards the store.When I was done and making my way back I heard Yeah-yeah arguing with some guys about how he's probably lying about me.I scoff as I walk into the sandlot when suddenly all eyes are on me and its quiet."Mae finally your here the guys kept telling me I was lying about you!"I turn to look at them as I smile."Hey you guys must be Alans friends-"I got cut off by the guys suddenly saying stuff like "WHAT THE HECK I THOUGHT YOUR COUSIN WAS A GUY" "SHE'S HOT"And more stuff until I see Someone I recognize,"Oh hey Benny.""He smiled at me as he said hey back.A short kid with glasses suddenly said,"YOU KNEW SHE WAS HOT AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!I WOULD HAVE DRESSED NICER."I chuckle as Benny was about to speak until he got cut off when a girl with black hair and dark eyes kissed him."I stood there confused until she pulled away smirking at me and said,"Oh i'm sorry I didn't know another girl had come to the sandlot I mean you aren't that important anyways.Im Alexa Benny's-"She was pissing me off so I cut her off and said,"I didn't ask."She looked taken aback and said,"What did you say?!How dare you!"I went closer to her and said,"You heard what I said and I mean you aren't that important anyways."I said repeating what she said to me.The boys laughed at her as Benny just stood there staring at me I rolled my eyes as she said,"Why are you even here are you dating one of them?!I just hope you know they don't need a cheerleader they already have me!"I scoffed as I said,"I'm here to play not cheer"She laughed and said,"Are you serious","yes I am and I bet I could beat you I mean since you like bragging about your boyfriend he must have taught you how to play ball right?"I said as her smirk fades and she says,"Fine but we are doing it my way!We both have to try to pitch and bat."I shrug my shoulders as I say,"Fine by me"I run to the benches as I hear her say,"Running away already?"I annoyingly turn around and say,"I'm getting my ball smart ass..
