The Hathway Kingdom (Book 2)

Thirteen.

~Thirteen. ~

Larissa came to a stop as she turned to face the rest of the room. The bathroom was the size of the bedroom she had just come from with a section off to the left for the toilet and a door to the right which she assumed led to the wardrobe. Her eyes fell on the bath, which was the largest bathtub she had ever seen in her life.

She walked into the room further before she looked over at the large changing screen over by the door that led to the wardrobe. Smiling, Larissa walked over to the bath and turned on the water. When it was hot enough, she put in the plug before she moved over to the screen and began to undress. Once she was undressed, she grabbed a towel and walked out from behind the screen. She walked over to the bathtub, where she turned off the taps and stood back up. She then dropped the towel before climbing into the bathtub, sinking beneath the steaming water with a sigh.

Closing her eyes, Larissa leant back against the edge of the tub, resting her head against the rim of the tub. After a while, Larissa lifted her head off the rim of the tub before she sank beneath the surface of the water. She stayed there long enough to soak her hair before she surfaced again and, after wiping the water from her eyes, she reached for her things to start washing herself and her hair.

The door to the bathroom opened and then closed whilst she had her back to it as she washed herself and she glanced towards it. Her eyes widened when she saw Romulus pulling his shirt back over his head. She couldn't help but stare at him as his shirt was removed, her eyes going over his toned chest and muscles as they flexed as he moved. She quickly looked away as he looked at her, her cheeks red from both the heat of the water and the blush that was now gracing them. She saw him smirk before he began to remove the rest of his clothing.

"There's a screen over there," she said as she kept her eyes away from him. She heard him chuckled before the sound of footsteps coming towards her. The next thing she knew, he had gotten into the bathtub with her, and she gave out a yelp as his arms circled her waist, pulling her to him. She glanced back at him before she looked forward again, glad that the steam from the hot water was hiding her cheeks.

"Did you find the cakes?" she asked as she leant back into him and she felt him nod his head.

"I did," he said in response as he reached for some of the soap she had been using before he picked up one of her arms.

"And? What made you come in here?" she asked him as he began to wash her arm slowly.

"Hmm...Well, I thought I'd come and join you in the bath," he said, and she shivered as he continued to wash her.

She bit down on her lip as he continued before she gasped as his hand moved down her body and continued further south. Her eyes closed and her entire body shuddered as her head fell back against his shoulder. Her breathing slowly began to pick up and one of her hands clutched at his arm that held her to him.

"Romulus..." she said in a breathy voice before he stopped what he was doing and turned her around so that she was straddling him now.

Water sloshed everywhere and, when they had finished, the bathtub was now half-full. Larissa panted with her head on his shoulder before she chuckled as he kissed up her neck again. She pulled back to meet his lips and shared another passionate kiss before she pulled back to rest her forehead against his with a chuckle.

"We really should clean up," she said, and he chuckled as well.

"We should," he agreed, and Larissa pulled back to look at him.

He watched her in return as she moved from his lap and sat in her own spot in the bathtub. She then turned her attention to all the water on the floor before she waved her hands over the edge. The water shifted slightly before it rose into the air, rising to the same height as her hands. Romulus watched her carefully, noting that her eyes changed to the same colour as the water. She concentrated on the water, moving the large amount over the bathtubs edge to hover between them. He looked at her for a moment before he nodded his head. Larissa looked at him before she closed her eyes and lowered her hands to her sides. As she did this, the water fell into the tub, filling it again so that the water was now resting just below the rim.

As she opened her eyes again, she slumped back against the edge of the bath, panting as she raised a hand to her head. She shook her head before she looked up at Romulus and he smiled at her gently. She smiled in return before she closed her eyes again and sighed.

"I think...I think we should go to bed. I have to be up in the morning," she said, and she heard him chuckle softly.

"Sounds like a wonderful idea," he said before he pulled the plug from the tub and climbed out, wrapping a towel around his waist before holding out a hand to her. She looked at him before she grumbled and accepted his hand to get out of the bath. He wrapped the other towel around her before he kissed her on the cheek and left the bathroom.

Larissa watched him leave before she sighed and walked over to the door leading to the wardrobe. She came to a stop when she saw that her clothing only filled about half of the wardrobe. She blinked several times before she shook her head and walked over to where her nightgowns were. Grabbing one, Larissa changed into it before she walked out of her bedroom, drying her hair on her towel as she went.

"Romulus?" she called out as she looked around the room. She stopped when she found Romulus, lying on the bed, his breathing even as she found him sleeping. She smiled softly before she walked over and sat down on the bed beside him. She reached over and brushed a lock of his hair out of his eyes as she watched him sleep soundly. After a while, Larissa looked towards the candle on the bedside table, which she assumed Romulus had lit to find the cakes. Its flame flickered as she looked at it before she climbed into the bed beside Romulus. With one last look at him, Larissa smiled before she clicked her fingers, and the candle went out.
