The day after the villain attack, the school was temporarily closed. Hanako laid in her own bed the following morning, thanks to recovery girl's healing quirk. Her muscles and bones still felt a little sore, her wings too. She didn't want to get out of bed at seven in the morning, but she was smart enough to realize that her mother wouldn't be making her little brother any lunch or breakfast. Kenji himself would be running out of time, he always did, he was never good at getting out of bed in the morning.

Neither was Hanako, to be honest, but she wanted Kenji to have at least some breakfast. She sighed deeply as she flung the covers off her body, the cold air kissing her limbs as she climbed out of bed. She tiredly pulled a sweater over her head and paired it with some grey sweats. She stumbled around her room, looking under her bed, on her clothing-covered desk chair and in the bottom of her closet, but her fuzzy socks were nowhere to be found. She quietly whined as she had to walk the icy feeling floors on her bare feet.

The low temperature of the kitchen tiles sent a shiver down her spine as she turned on the light above the dining table. She squeezed her eyes shut as the bright beams hurt her pupils. Hanako's vision then fell on a half-eaten bowl of rice on the table with a sticky note next to it. She recognised it as a note from one of the piles on her desk, and moved to see the words on it written with a pen that was laid beside it.

'Sleep well? Made myself at home when i visited last night. Thanks for the rice, sister.'

Her breath hitched as her heartbeat picked up. Tenko. Hanako's feet moved herself upstairs faster than she'd ever gone and her shaking hand hesitated as it hovered above Kenji's door handle. She stared at the name plate on the door, her mind racing with a hundred thoughts per second.

Her mind flickered to yesterday evening when she got home.

--

"Hanako!" Kenji had exclaimed worriedly, "I-i picked up the phone when it rang and the-.. the nice lady said you were hurt- are you okay?" His brows were furrowed as a sad expression gleamed in his eyes.

She flashed him a smile, "I'm okay, Kenji, the nice lady helped me get better."

He sighed in relief as he walked to his sister and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm glad. I saw the news, too, it looked so scary." He spoke muffledly into her shoulder.

"It was." She admitted, her hand stroking his dark hair lovingly. "But you don't have to worry about me okay? I'm like, super strong. Did you know i'm stronger than All Might?"

Kenji laughed, throwing his head back with closed eyes. "No way, All Might's the strongest."

Hanako gasped in faux offense, her hand covering her chest. "That hurts, little man, that hurts real bad." she choked out, wiping away fake tears.

The white haired girl's lips curled up into a smile as her brother's laughing unstoppably picked up it's volume.

--

She gulped as her hand came down on the cold metal of the door knob, hoping that the images flushing her mind were just her dumb overthinking, she twisted her hand and opened the door. She bit her lip, turning her head around the corner of the wood to face the nine year old's bed. Her eyes widened as she stared at the empty matress.
