Chapter Four

-Niko's POV-

I have been looking at the computer screen for going on three hours now, I was almost convinced this girl was abducted. I was just about to give up but then I looked down at my phone at me and Ashley. I can't help but smile, that's when I knew I can't let Jason down. I decided to use my Instagram maybe she would be on there. I typed in Ava Channing and sure enough she popped up, how in the hell did I not think of this before?!?! I clicked on her profile and read her bio;

The Heart Wants What It Wants.

She was Jason's girl and she is across the world. I started to scroll down her pictures she had quite a few of Kolby, that little girl looked a whole lot like Jason. It must be hard for Nathan to raise her and act like she is his knowing she is Jason's and will always be his. Nathan and I have workd together before because I work for private invertigators and he needed our help on a couple of cases. I counldn't believe what Jason told me Nathen said to him when he got out of jail, he always seemed like a decent man I never thought he would keep someones child from them; but I guess it's one of those things that you "have to be in their shoes".

I decided to wait to tell Jason because I knew he would want to get on the first plane and take her and that would ruin everything. I wanted to do more research and figure her out, it would be difficult but it shouldn't be that hard. I picked up my phone and say Ashley texted me asking when I would be home, I smiled and text back "leaving the station now baby." She was the highlight of my world and even though we aren't married we have a child between us, Daniel. He was only two years old but he has become my world and what I live for. I grabbed y keys and jacket and headed home. I decided to tell Jason in a few days and me, Ashley, and Daniel would go with him so he didn't go crazy when he saw her.

-Ava's POV-

I'm finally laying on Nathan's bare chest when I could hear Kolby cry on the baby monitor I went to get up when I could feel him pull me back down. I let out a small laugh and looked at him.

"She is hungry and wants her mommy." He started playing with my hair.

"We hired Rosa for a reason, you have breast milked already pumped inn the fridge she can make her a bottle and feed her without you." I playfully rolled my eyes.

"I don't want to miss a thing. She is getting so big and I can't miss a thing. She's my little girl who needs me." I pulled the sheet around my bare body and got up to get my robe and slip tat on me and put my hair in a messy bun.

"Ava, I have been gone for a long time now and I have been back for a week now and I still feel like I barely see you. Why can't we just have time to our self? I understand we have Kolby but that doesn't mean the romance has to go away." I looked back at him confused.

"How could you say that the romance is gone? Do you not remember what we did last? Do you know how much courage it took me to have sex with you again? Because YOU wanted to? And if me having Kolby is interfering with your love life then we can go live with my brother in Malibu it isn't a problem." I walked out f our room slamming the door and going down the hall to her nursery. I picked her up and sat down in the rocking chair in her room and started to feed her, maybe I was a little to hard on Nathan but its just I know he told me he looked at Kolby as his but lately he has been needy and almost seems jealous of her. I grabbed my IPhone and texted my brother asking him if it would be alright if me and Kolby came to stay with him for the weekend or so, he didn't mind at all.

She finally stopped eating so I changed her diaper and her sleeper and put her in a baby tank top and shorts with a matching sunhat and scandals. I packed her little leopard suitcase while he played on her play mat with Budda watching her he was so good around her he would be staying at a doggy hotel because my brother has bigger dogs and Budda doesn't care for them. Kolby fell asleep so I put her in her car seat while I packed my bag, Nathan was coming out of the bathroom when I was packing I heard him let out a sigh.

"You don't need to go stay with your brother Ava. Stop being stubborn and just stop packing." I turn around and saw him standing by my bag.

"I just need to see my brother and he hasn't seen Kolby for some time now."

"Then I'll go with you. We can all go out and have fun."

"Nathan. I want to go with Kolby only. I need to clear my head." He looked at me kinda hurt and confused.

"What do you need to think about? I JUST got back? And now YOUR'E leaving? What the hell is going on with you lately? I want to spend time with just you why can't you see that?" I have only heard him raise his voice at me a couple of times. It kinda startled me.

"Nathan ever since you got back you have been SUPER clingy with me and that's not like you and I'm trying to figure out why. Did something happen in New York? You have to be honest with me. I am your finance' remember?" I cross my arms looking at me, he looked down at the floor not saying any ting to me. "Nathan tell me now. I know now for sure something happened."

"Nothing happened Ava. Okay? I went got all the shit taken care of and came home. I didn't do anything that I haven't told you already. Now stop thinking I'm some bad guys. I'm NOT JASON!" My eyes got twice their size how could he bring up Jason right now? I haven't talked about him for awhile... well at least not to anyone only to Kolby and myself.

"THIS is why I'm going to Malibu. I'll text you when I get there." I put the last things in my bag when he let out one last huff and stomped out the door and slammed the door. I zipped up my bag and grabbed my charger and went downstairs. I walked over to where I left Kolby's car seat but she wasn't in it, I couldn't help to panic. I began to run around the whole downstairs and then I ran into her nursery where Nathan was with her. I quickly grabbed her from him.

"I wanted to hold her. She was awake." He confessed to me stepping away from me a little bit.

"You could have told me you took her out of her seat." I told him rubbing her back. I turned on my heels and headed back downstairs to put her in her seat.

"Ava, I wouldn't do something stupid like hurting her or taking her."

"I would hope not because you would be a dead man if you did." I told him standing up from putting her in her seat. I heard him let out a small laugh but I wasn't playing.

I started putting everything in the car then putting her in the car and Budda in the passenger seat. I got in and pressed the garage door to open I rolled down my window because Nathan leaned down.

"Don't stay away too long."

"I'm not leaving, we just need pace right now. Your'e not beinging yourself and I don't know why."

"I love you Ava and I love Kolbs too. Have a safe trip. Call or text when you get there."

"I love you too and I will." I leaned my head out a little ways and he met me half way kissing my lips softly, I did love him but he wasn't the one who had my heart.

It belonged to Jason.
