An unusual glow surrounded me as I glaired at my cousen for the first time in many moons, the only thing that had changed about him was the light grey hairs that were forming on his mussle.
The only one standing between me and him was Icy, she didn't yet know that I was standing just behind her. Her icy blue fur was glitering from the paintings that were glowing lumunously around us.
Bloc had been talking with her casualy when I had come in but now all he did was glare over her shoulders at me, Icy thought his sudden agretion was aimed at her, but I knew other wise.
Soon Blocs glare turned to a snarl and he leaped over Icy and tackled me, causeing both of us to fall to the ground in a wrath of biteing, and though the pain was great I knew that I could never again shed a drop of blood, and the moment he let go to bite again the wound would heal, unluckly for him demons did not have this ability.
Finaly I had him pinned; my paw pressed to his throught. "You!" I snarled "What lies were you feeding her?!"
"I have done nothing to her!" he gasped, his voice weak and cracked.
There seemed to be a new sinsearity in his voice, he had changed since he had tried to murrder me, which made me release him. What ever it was this was not what had possesed my son.
"What are you doing here?" Bloc whispered
I looked up at him, it looked as though he actualy ment his words so I told him "I needed to see my mate, the last I saw her was not the best situation for a last glance."
"She told me... I'm glad she was able to save everyone, but still I'd like to hear your story after all, I haven't been up to date on pack news in a while." his last part was somwhat a chuckle. And when I told him of every thing that had happened in his absence he listened to each detail, and every now and then he would nod his head or add a short comment.
"I'm sorry.." he said when I finished the story with Icy's 'changing' "for everything I've caused; your death, for what's happened to you..."
"You may have caused my death, but you also aloud me to meet Icy and you didn't cause her... Death."
"But... Why didn't you stop it? You wouldn't have been changed."
"You are right about that, Icy wished for me to save our son, and even so, I didn't know about the Ink untill she had already attacked it. It was too late for me to do anything but save our son..." when I finished I looked at were Icy had once been standing and gasped when I saw that she was laying limply on the ground.
"Shit..." I herd Bloc say as he rushed to her side and looked at her.
"What happened?" I prompted, it looked like Icy had simply fainted when Bloc had leapt over her.
He glance up at me and answered in a fear filled tone. "The Ink is kicking in... How long has she been 'dead'? "
"Two and a half days, maybe three at the most."
"Shes going back..."
"Wait! She going back Now?!"
"Yes! The ink in her is going to use her memories to find the others! Anyone she knew is in danger!"
"Shes headed for camp! We have to stop her! Come on Bloc you can return to the liveing world with me!" Bloc nodded and we both sprinted out of the caves and instead of spearing in the Purek Jazen we were suddenly in the grass lands of the eastern packs territory just out side the camp.
As we rushed into the caves entrance many foxes snarled at Bloc once they recognized him. "You may all remember Bloc as a selfish murderer." I panted "but he has changed in the time of his banishment and death, I visited him in the demon world and spoke with him. He met Icy and told me that she has left the demon world to and is coming here now! We need all the spirits to guard the caves entrance and the living to stay in a den towards the back. Gaize I hope that you understand I am not ordering the pack without your permission, but please understand that I need you all to do this or you will be attacked by the Ink."
Gaize nodded and flicked her tail at the pack to follow my lead.
I would have led them to the end but I needed to warn the northern pack as well. "I can't stay with you but I trust Bloc to lead in my place, I have to warn Icy's old pack of what is to come as well." Before they could all respond I sprinted out of the cave hoping that I would reach Icy's pack before she got there, if she did not attack my pack.
The way seamed almost too easy for me, after all I had walked this stretch of land so many times before with Icy at my side. Even when the stepping stones that led to their camp that lay out in the ocean in a high cliffs cave I did not slow my pace, I raced over each stone my spirit wings stretching out to make my leaps fly over several stones at once.
I was nearly at the caves entrance when a splash sounded from the shore. Turning I saw that my worst nightmare had come true Icy had come to her old cam first.
Icy's eyes were glowing bright green, I have always known of her ability to change her eye color to show her feelings, but the only color I had seen them other then their usual light shade of blue was the color they had shone as she had attacked Bloc. Her flightless wings flapped as she stumbled across the stones and she occasionally slipped and would have to pull her self back onto the stone she had slipped off of.
As I made my last leap and landed in the Northern packs camp I quickly looked for Sun, I couldn't address his pack without him or they would not listen to me.
"Flair," Sun greeted kindly once he saw me at his camps entrance. "what brings you to our pack?'
"An Ink is coming, its Icy, and she's already made it halfway across the stepping stones," I said trying to keep my voice steady "Sun you must let me help you pack or she will change more foxes!"
"I see..." he pondered "so my daughter has returned. Do as you wish." When he finished speaking to me he turned to his pack and announced what was happening "Foxes of northern pack. All of you must listen to Flair or perish under Icy's fait."
I disliked how he said Icy's name, like a curse word that he wants to rid from his jaws, but I nodded respectfully and began to address his pack. "I thank you for welcoming my help, it is true that an Ink had found your camp and I need all the Spirits to fight it with me at the camps entrance the others will need to stay in a different den, one that is far from the fighting- we do not want anymore Inks."
Five spirits walked up to me as Sun led the others to a den in the back; I spoke to them gently as they sat in a circle around me. "Truth be told, I haven't a clue how we are going to do this and if we can't stop her... you know what the problem will be."
As I finished a loud snarl sounded behind us and I span around, I could hardly tell that it was Icy, but still a faint trace of her was there.
