This is Me!

"Raven?"

"Raven?"

A bright light blinded me. My eyes gave in and out. My ears were ringing. My vision was blurry. I couldn't make out a thing or a word being spoken.

"Raven...? It's me Lily. Can you hear me?"

I couldn't say a word it was as if someone had a tight grip around my throat not allowing me to say a word.

"Do you remember a thing?" Lily gently whispered to me.

I shook my head.

"Raven, you passed out after a policeman came to all of announce identity of the student. Luckily for you the emergency crew were already there. They asked each one of us if you had anyone they could contact to ride with you in the ambulance. I couldn't let you go alone so I told them I was your only sister. I hope that's okay.."

My mind was still groggy as I tried to take in every word Lily spoke. I still couldn't get out a word. My throat was drier than the Sahara Desert.

"W-wa.." I struggled to say reaching for the random cup next to hospital bed I was in.

"Oh you want water?" Lily asked me.

I slowly nodded. She reached for the cup handing it to me. I began to drink clenching my thirst.

"You need to know some..." Lily hesitated to say.

"Lately I've noticed you been hanging with that boy. Artemis was it? I think so. Well um...this might be hard to here but..." Lily paused to staring right at me as I slowly brought down my cup of water.

"W-what?" I finally was able to say.

"Raven...Artemis is not who you think he is. I- um... I'm not sure how to say this"

I saw the pure struggle Lily had trying to explain. I slowly lifted a hand resting it on hers reassuring her it was okay.

Sighing she began talking.

"Artemis was the student identity who died..."

I felt every color from my body drained as my eyes went wide.

"H-how?" I asked suppressing the tear forming.

"That's just it...I'm not sure you want me to tell you the rest" Lily said stroking my hand.

"How?" I asked with aggression.

"Raven you d-"

I felt as my hands tightened around Lily.

"Suicide?" I asked robotically.

"Raven" Lily said in a soothing voice.

"Just fucking tell me!" I felt every rage with me pour out in that single sentence.

Clearly startling Lily she shook my hands off her.

"Raven I know he was your friend but I truly don't think you knew a thing about him so don't you dare yelled at me for trying to save your sanity".

Still full of rage, I looked away from her.

"I don't need saving, never had, never will" I whispered angrily under my breath.

"Fine! I tell you but don't you dare yell at me for your fucked up friend!"

Still looking away I remained silent.

"Everything I am about to tell you is what I heard from the two days I've been with you in the hospital. The police say that Artemis' death, might not have been a suicide but a homicide because from the way he body was fallen it would've been hard for someone to die from the fall and if they were attempt suicide they would've fallen at some completely different angle as if they were ridding themselves from torment but that's not how Artemis' death looked. It looked at if he was pushed. Some type of foul play was involve leading them to think that it maybe a homicide not suicide but death in student isn't uncommon so they don't want to rule out suicide either."
