Biscuits

Hawk's smile faded away. "How about we make breakfast?" He asked. I nodded. He took out a huge feather and used it to keep me steady. Once we got to the kitchen, Hawks opened the fridge. I knew there wasn't going to be much to work with. "How about biscuits?" He asked. I had some dough in there because it was easy and I could digest it well. I was leaning on the feather and putting all of my body weight onto it. I tried to pop open the container with heat, but the feather caught on fire. It burnt to ashes in moments. Hawks barely managed to grab my hand before my head hit the floor. He lifted me back up. "You okay?" "More or less. Uhm.... sorry about the feather." "It's fine, now I can pull out the other one and make it even. Just please, no more unwarranted fire." Hawks said as he finished laying the biscuits on the tray and put them into the oven. "Can we.... sit?" I asked. Once again, I was going to be vulnerable around him. I was barely ever vulnerable around myself. Him and his big ass feather helped me back onto the bed. "I.... don't have very good control over my quirk. Because of the way I was trained, it comes out when I'm upset. And because everything I've done as a villain has been messy and violent, I'm not very good with precision like you are." I paused. "I stopped that by the way. I could barely keep myself alive. I'm just glad that the LOV isn't trying to pressure me. I really didn't want to disappoint them." Hawks hugged me. "That's awesome baby bird! As for your quirk, we can work on that. Maybe if you came back as Touya, you could start living normally with me." "How could I ever even start that?" I asked. "Well, for starters, stop dying your hair." "What about my obvious burns?" "Well, if you actually got medical help, you could drastically reverse their severity. They can't legally turn you in because of patient confidentiality." "Really?" "Yeah. And I'm sure we can find someone with a quirk to change anything else." "But, Hawks.... what if I don't want to be Touya, anymore? I mean; my name is Dabi and my hair is black and I like it that way." "I know, baby bird. If it's about the ties to your father, we could pick another color and you can have my last name. I'm also rolling in cash, so you could pick a new name if you want." "Fine. But let's work on letting my body heal before I have to deal with my family, again." Hawks smiled at me. His smile was so warm.
