The next day, she made the decision to tell mush how she really felt about Racetrack. As always, she took him up on the roof, away from the other boys. She pulled out a cigarette, lit up, and began to speak. “Mush, I trust you, because no matter what, you are loyal and I can count on you to keep a secret. Mush… I hope you don’t have any sort of feelings for me because I just like as a friend and nothing more.” He laughed and hugged her. “It’s okay, Storm, I know you love Racetrack, now at least.” She frowned at him. “Why did you kiss me then, if you knew?” he grinned at her.

“I was just messing with you Storm, and I didn’t put two and two together until I saw the way that you looked for him, and the way you looked at him when we were getting ready for bed. You love him. I think you fell in love with him right from the start, and that is why you were so afraid to tell him.” She nodded and said, “He treated me like a brother, and it hurt so much. I can’t bear to tell him because I really am afraid that he will reject me and our friendship will fall apart and my heart will be broken. I would rather be a friend than a broken hearted stranger.” They walked back in and she joined in the gambling, laughing and smoking, not even seeing how Race looked at her, so sadly, how much he wanted to tell her how much he loved her. Mush, however, did see, and being the absolute romantic that he was, a plan began forming in his mind, to get the two lovebirds together at last. It was his turn to play cupid.
