Irina was disappointed that their wedding was traditionally Japanese and within the country, but she understood. There were too many people to invite—their students, government coworkers, Tadaomi's family—and it'd be easier if they didn't have to travel to another continent.
She let herself feel that disappointment in full force, before putting it away.
A day later, out of nowhere, Tadaomi told her to pack for a trip.
"Where are we going?"
His calm expression didn't change as he answered, "Our honeymoon", and handed her a flight ticket to one of the Aegean Islands.
Grinning, she hugged him tightly.
